14 Troubleshooting

14.1 Remedying Cordless Product, Double-battery Compartment or Battery Faults

Fault LEDs on the
battery
The cordless product 1 LED flashes
does not start when green.
switched on or
switches off during
operation.
1 LED illuminates
red.
3 LEDs flash red. There is a fault in the
3 LEDs illuminate
red.

Cause
The battery charge state is
too low.
The battery is too warm or
too cold.
cordless product.
The cordless product is
overheated.
The electrical connection
between the cordless
product and battery has
been interrupted.
The cordless product or
battery are damp.
Remedy
► Charge the battery as described in the instruction
manual for the STIHL AL 101, 300, 500 charger.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the battery to cool down or warm up.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean the electrical contacts of the double-battery
compartment.
► Fit the battery.
► Switch on the cordless product.
► If 3 LEDs still flash red: consult a STIHL specialist
dealer.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the cordless product to cool down.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean the electrical contacts of the double-battery
compartment.
► Fit the battery.
► If the cordless product still does not start when
switched on or still switches off during operation:
clean the contact surfaces of the double-battery
compartment.
► Allow the cordless product or battery to dry.
