Magnet Removal

Prior to Implantation

In some cases it may be necessary to remove the magnet from the implant before the device is implanted.
In these situations, the magnet is replaced by a Magnet Insert Dummy, CI-1410 (Figure1). When there is no
further need for MRI examinations, the titanium Magnet Insert Dummy can be replaced with a HiRes 90K

note:
To remove the magnet and replace it with the Magnet Insert Dummy, complete the following under sterile
conditions:
1. Remove the implant from the sterile tray. Place the implant on a flat, stable surface with the"plus" (+) sign on
the magnet facing up

2. Use a House Elevator, or similar instrument to lift the silicone retainer edge around the magnet. Then
remove the magnet from the implant. Take care to minimize any damage or tearing of the silicone retainer
edge
3. Replace the original magnet with the sterilized Magnet Insert Dummy. To introduce the Magnet Insert

The Magnet Insert Dummy is a sterile, single-use, non-reusable surgical tool.
(Figure 3). Do not remove the protective tube from the electrode.
