TEST YOUR SMOCKEO DETECTOR, PERFORM A FIRST TEST

As indicated in the first pages of this guide, you have activated your detector on smockeo.com/
activation. On your SMOCKEO account, a window encourages you to perform the first test of your
detector. An animation will guide you through this manipulation. During normal operation, SMOCKEO
emits a red flash once every minute. It is recommended that you check the proper functioning of your
detector once per month and after each battery change, by maintaining the "TEST" button on the
cover of the detector pressed about ten seconds : The warning light on the SMOCKEO flashes.
Then, the alarm emits a high pitch sound. Releasing the button immediately stops the alarm. The
reference person will receive an alert referencing the test that has just been carried out. Strong sound
power > 85dBA at 118 in / 3m (94dBA at 39 in / 1m). Remember to familiarize the residents of the
property with the sound of SMOCKEO and get them used to evacuating the house when they hear it.
Remain at a reasonable distance from the detector (arm outstretched) to protect your hearing from
the very powerful sound. Do not attempt to provoke an alarm by other means (using a lighter, etc...)
; you could damage your detector or worse, start a fire. If nothing happens during the detector test,
please refer to the online procedure: www.smockeo.com/test-procedure/. You will be guided to find
the solution to the identified problem.
SECURITY
The smoke detector is a device that allows for a rapid warning of the beginning of a fire at a reasonable cost;
however domestic fires may start in various ways, and are often unpredictable. The smoke detector may in
certain cases not warn of a fire if:
The battery is slow or of the wrong type. The electronics are defective. The maintenance is never performed.
The location is bad. The smoke is not reaching it. The smoke detector cannot detect smoke emitted by an
incident located on another floor or on the other side of a door.
It is too far away. Although it emits a very powerful sound, the smoke detector might not wake a person
sleeping soundly. For maximal protection, it is recommended to place one detector in every bedroom
The SMOCKEO alerts have not been taken into account by the user.
The life and usage duration is ten years when the detector is placed in a healthy environment. You will receive
an alert message from your detector when it approaches it end of life. SMOCKEO helps save lives, but must
not take away from your vigilance and does not exempt from subscription to an insurance company to
protect people and goods. SMOCKEO is not a gas detector.
In case of a fire, do not rush towards danger and alert emergency services.
PRIVACY
The SMOCKEO detector only measures information relative to its functioning: smoke detection, abnormal
temperature elevation, dysfunctions. This information is hosted on our secure servers. You may delete your
