Commissioning
The battery compartment / power supply unit supplied with the product must be attached to the wall
below the washbasin using velcro. The battery compartment / power supply unit must not be operated
while hanging on the cable. (Risk of damage)
After the battery / mains power is connected, the fitting requires a maximum of 30 seconds to calibrate itself.
During the calibration period, there must be no objects within the detection range of the fitting, as this may
otherwise result in a reduction in the range. The calibration is displayed by the LED flashing three times and
then staying lit for 10-15 seconds. After the LED goes out, the fitting is ready for use.
1.1 Setting the outlet temperature
The use of an additional thermostatic mixer is recommended; without a thermostatic mixer the temperature can
be regulated on the stop valves.
1.2 Avoidance of scalding (scald protection system DIN EN 806 part 2)
Systems for heated drinking water are to be designed in such a way that the risk of scalding is low.
At removal points where the outlet temperature is particularly important, such as hospitals, schools, retirement
homes etc, thermostatic mixing valves or batteries where the upper temperature is limited should be used in
order to reduce the risk of scalding. A maximum temperature of 43°C is recommended.
In shower facilities, kindergartens and special areas of nursing homes it should be ensured that the temperature
cannot exceed 38°C.
Implementation: the temperature at the point of removal is adjusted in the case of the Bambini infrared fitting by
regulating the flow rate on the stop valves. With a maximum temperature of 60°C at the point of removal (warm
water stop valve) a water temperature of 38°C is not exceeded at the point of removal - under normal conditions
- with the warm and cold water connection fully open (->+).
In order to avoid scalding thermostats should be used under all circumstances (e.g. Grohetherm Micro
thermostat). The pre-regulated mixing ratio through the 4Bambini fitting is not ensured in the case of a
significant drop in the pressure on the cold water side. The thermostats can be easily installed between the stop
valve and fitting.
Notes:
The electronic washbasin mixing units must not be fitted to washbasins with raised edges, i.e. the detection
area must be free from obstructions.

Functions

2.1 Cleaning function

Activation of the cleaning function
The sensor window must be covered as completely as possible, with the whole hand, for approximately 10
seconds. The delivery of water then stops and is blocked for approx. 60 seconds.
Display of the activated cleaning function
While the cleaning function is active, this is displayed by means of a regularly repeated short flashing impulse of
the LED behind the sensor window.
2.2 Battery monitoring function
Display indicating that a battery change is due
Battery voltage < 5.5 V: The LED in the sensor window flashes when the fitting is activated. Water flow is still
available. The battery should be changed soon.
Battery voltage < 5.2 V: The LED in the sensor window displays a steady light. Water flow is no longer
available. The battery must be changed.
Note:
The battery is a 6 V lithium battery of type CR-P2
For the battery change, the cable is disconnected and the battery
compartment is removed from the wall. After opening the housing
(4 bolts), the battery can be changed. When closing the housing, it
must be ensured that all bolts fit equally tightly, otherwise it cannot
be guaranteed that the housing will not leak.
