- Translation of the original instructions
Never use the motor in explosive atmospheres or to pump inflammable or dangerous liquids.
Do not use motor in swimming areas.
WARNING!
The motor must only operate when submerged under water.

INSTALLATION

Verify that the data shown on the plate, and in particular power, frequency, voltage, absorbed cur-

rent, are compatible with the characteristics of the electric line or current generator available.
Verify that the electrical system corresponds to the CEI EN 60204-1 standard.
WARNING!
Check that the motor drive shaft and the pump drive shaft turn freely.
Before coupling the motor to the body of the pump, check if the rotation direction of the drive shaft of the motor is the
same as the one of the pump. If not, for three-phase motors only, simply swap over the terminals on the control panel to
change it. The single phase motor's rotation direction is counter clock wise (seen from the top).
Coupling the submersible motor to the pump:
Place the motor in a vertical position with the shaft lug bolt directed towards the top and secure it so that it can not move
or fall while it is being coupled, unscrew the nuts. Lift the pump with a crane or a hoist and put it into position over the
motor; check that both flanges are centred and then screw it down with the screws provided.
Use a screwdriver to lever the connection coupling of the two drive shafts and check that the pump

has some axial play towards the pump's delivery outlet.

SETTING AT WORK, OPERATION AND STOP

Before executing any operation, turn off the power and prevent it from being reconnected.
We recommend two methods for connecting cables:
1) Resin-bonded connection (Fig.1).
1.A) Insert: box (a) and box cover (b) on the cable and heat-shrinking tubes on the four wires. Cut the wires to different
lengths so that the connectors do not overlap. Sand down the ends of the sheathing of the two cables using fine glass
paper for approximately 50mm.
1.B) Join the wires using crimp-on terminal connectors.
1.C) Wrap the wires near the outer sheathing with the strips of filler. Move the heat-shrinking tubes above the connectors
and heat them using the special hot-air device so that the tubes shrink. Wrap the end of the sheathing using self-binding
insulating tape for approximately 40mm as shown in Fig.1.C.
1.D) Move the box into position, cover the bottom with PVC insulating tape and pour in the resin, leaving enough space
to insert the box cover.
1.E) Clad the cover of the box with PVC insulating tape. Leave in a vertical position for about 3 hours at a room tempera-
ture of 20°C so that the resin can harden.
2) Connection using heat-shrinking pipe joints (Fig.2).
2.A) Insert: heat-shrinking pipe on the cable and heat-shrinking tubes on the four wires. Cut the wires to different lengths
so that the connectors do not overlap. Sand down the ends of the sheathing of the two cables using fine glass paper for
approximately 50 mm.
2.B) Join the wires using crimp-on terminal connectors.
2.C) Wrap the wires near the outer sheathing with the strips of filler. Move the heat-shrinking tubes above the connectors
and heat them using the special hot-air device so that the tubes shrink. Wrap the end of the sheathing using self-binding
insulation tape for approximately 40mm as shown in Fig. 2.C.
2.D) Move the heat-shrinking pipe into position.
2.E) Heat the tube from the centre outwards, using the special hot-air device.
In single-phase and three-phase motors, a series of three wires exits the motor in addition to a fourth, yellow-green con-
ductor for connection to earth; these must be connected to the terminals of the control apparatus.
