Dräger Docking Station Polytron 2000, Installation Information
Users must be familiar with the Instructions for Use for the measurement module and must
follow them exactly before performing any work on the Dräger Polytron 2000 measurement
module or the Dräger Docking Station (order no. 83 23 677).
Installing Docking Station
— Install in a vertical position (transmitter with sensor down) in a low-vibration location
with as stable a temperature as possible – in the vicinity of a potential leak.
— Keep a free area at least 15 cm above the transmitter for installation of the
measurement module .
— Keep a free area of at least 10 cm – 30 cm recommended – below the Docking
Station for access during maintenance work.
 Unpack Docking Station.
1 Remove rain cover (dust and splash guard).
2 Remove 2-pin connection terminal, keep it and replace it on completion of installation.
 Screw Docking Station in position (drill template: see Page 4
Hole spacing: 66 ±4 mm.
If the substrate is uneven, use spacers (e.g. mounting bracket 68 09 951) to
prevent distortion of the housing.
If the measurement module is not yet installed:
 Replace the rain cover (dust and splash guard).

Installing electrical connections

— Connect to the central controller with at least a 2-lead wire, 0.5 to 2.5 mm
LiYCY).
— A direct voltage between 12 V DC and 30 V DC must be applied at the transmitter
for currents between 0 and 22 mA.
Installing 4 to 20 mA current loop
 Install 2-wire connection cable in cable gland, cut to length and remove insulation
(approx. 80 mm).
 Shorten shielding, if present, so short-circuits cannot occur.
 Connect cable:
1 2-pin terminal for Dräger Polytron 2000 – note polarity. Shorten excess leads or
2 fix in 4-pin terminal.
1 Push connection terminal back into holder.
 Fix cable in holder.
 Fold this installation information and place in the Docking Station for commissioning.
 Replace the rain cover (dust and splash guard).
Connection to the central controller.
Connect shield to ground of central controller (e.g. housing, ground bar, etc.).
