Operational optimisation of gas condensing devices
20
Based on the many experiential values for the field and knowledge
gained from various laboratory trials, changes can be made to the
technical control settings of BRÖTJE gas condensing devices. These
have a direct influence on the total operational optimisation of a gas
condensing device and could possibly counteract a non-optimum per-
formance of the gas condensing device for certain system constella-
tions. The sum of all individual optimisations mean more efficient
operation for BRÖTJE gas condensing devices.
These include
– longer burner running time
– a better condensation behavior
– reduced switching cycles and less wear on the internal device com-
ponents, such as gas valve, fan, electrodes, relay, etc.
– lower consumption of electrical auxiliary energy
– improved base parameterisation for more optimal integration in
almost all plant systems
– an optimised through charging function for system constellations
with buffer storage and integrated production of domestic hot wa-
ter.
– safe operating behavior
– low noise emission
Note: Starting November 2011 in all gas condensing devices with in-
tegrated system controller BRÖTJE ISR-PLUS LMS 14 the following
listed parameters are set to the new settings at the factory.
Optionally these optimisations can also be retrofitted on all existing
installed devices, e.g., in connection with a service.
In addition the corresponding BRÖTJE system controllers, their appli-
cation time frame, as well as the corresponding BRÖTJE gas condens-
ing devices of the individual series are listed in tables on the following
pages.
Note: Whether a device requires a settings change or not depends on
the installed system, the temperature difference, as well as many
other factors. However, in general the following parameters can be
selected in the system controller ISR-Plus LMS and implemented for
assessment.

The ratio 8:1 can be used as a measurement limit for the ratio of
burner start to burner running time. This means that up to eight burn-
er starts per hour burner running time can be taken as an acceptable
ratio. An optimisation of the parameter is not absolutely required.
For more than eight burner starts per hour burner running time an op-
