REA ELECTRIC COOKERS
E-6.
Installation

Installation site:

Place the TALSA cooker on a clean flat surface, using the adjustable legs to make sure the cooker is perfectly level. Allow space of at
least one meter all around the cooker to facilitate use, maintenance and cleaning. The installation site should be adequately ventilated
and have sufficient lighting.
Connection to water lines:
The cooker is equipped with two water intakes: one for cold water and one for hot water
(IMG. 4). The water lines for these intakes should meet UNE-EN 1717:2001 standards
and must be equipped with two external taps close to the kettle for easy access by the
user. These taps, however, should not be above the lid.

Inspection of the thermal fluid:
All Talsa cookers incorporate internal bath filled with thermal fluid. The thermal fluid is essential for the efficient functioning of the
cooker and should be checked at room temperature through the built in internal sight glass port before initial start-up and periodically
thereafter.
Add or drain thermal fluid only when the cooker is cold! Handling hot fluid can result in serious burns!
Checking the fluid level, filling and draining:
 Checking the fluid level:
Theoretically, the level should be at the halfway mark of the sight glass when cooker is at room temperature (IMG. 5). Anyway, it is
possible that this level is not seen: it is not a problem at all, as the cookers are delivered already filled with thermal fluid
and ready to be used. It can occur that the thermal fluid level is below or above of the sight glass due to the contraction or
expansion caused by difference in room temperature.
 Filling:
If the level is low, remove the left side panel and add thermal fluid through the internal filler tube. (IMG. 6)
 Draining:
To drain the thermal fluid, remove the left side panel and use the internal ¾" tap located at the bottom front of the cooker (IMG. 7).
Depending on the cooker model, be prepared to catch between 40 and 100 liters of fluid. Please recycle the used fluid.

Internal expansion chamber:
The cooker has an internal expansion chamber, which collects the thermal fluid when its volume increases due to temperature raising.
This increase in volume can be up to 8%. In the rare case of the internal expansion chamber reaching its capacity, the excess of
thermal fluid would drain through a silicone tube located at the back right side of the cooker. So, if you detect liquid escaping from that
tube, do not worry, given that it is just a question of excess of the thermal fluid
Another reason for escaping thermal fluid could be that the cooker has been tilted to the right side or backward, where the drain tube
is located.
Located at the front right underside of the
½"
cooker. Install a seal.
Normally delivered disassembled. Screw into
1-½"
place on the front of the cooker. Put Teflon tape
on the threads to prevent leaks.
