2. Startup

2.1 Area of application

CAUTION!
Damage to the cutting mechanism!
Only use the machine to shred approved
materials!
Shredding other types of material can result in
damage to the equipment (e.g. destruction of the
cutting mechanism, etc.).
The Garner FLASHPRO data shredder is a machine to shred
flash memory devices such as USB sticks, mobile phones, mini
tablets, SSD cards, CDs and DVDs.
DANGER!
Risk of injury! Fire hazard! Damage to the
machine!
Shredding a mobile device with a battery
can generate a flash or an explosion.
☞ Always remove batteries from battery powered
devices before shredding!

2.2 Installation

1. Unpack and install the device.
2. Insert the plastic bag into the catch basket (Fig.4/2).
3. Connect the device to the power supply via the power.
plug (for information on the fuses which the power socket
requires, see "Technical Data", Section 6.
NOTE!
Please run an initialization process (see "Initialization
process", Section 3.4) before shredding for the first
time.

3. Operation

3.1 "Smart Control" operator unit

1. Function button (Fig. 1/1)
Turns the machine on and off, and stops the shredding
process.
NOTE!
After 10 min without use the machine shuts off
automatically.
2. Forward button (Fig. 1/2)
Starts the shredding process.
3. "Motor overload" / "Motor failure" pilot lamp
(Fig. 1/3)
Lights up in the event of a motor overload or failure.
4. "Catch basket full" pilot lamp (Fig. 1/4)
Lights up if the catch basket is full and needs to be
emptied.
5. Reverse button (Fig. 1/5)
If the motor is still, it starts backward operation. If the
motor is running, it stops the operation.
6. "Door open" / "Safety glass open" pilot lamp
(Fig. 1/6)
Lights up if the floor unit's door or the safety glass is open
(Fig. 2/1).
