Do not inst all t he alarm in a place wit h difficult access, which
could m ake it difficult t o operat e t he t est but t on, replace t he
bat t ery and m aint enance. The alarm can be inst alled quickly
and easily. I nst all t he base plat e on t he select ed locat ion using
t he provided screws.
3 . Ba t t e r ie s/ Re pla ce m e n t : The sm oke det ect or operat es on
one 9V DC GOLD PEAK 1604S ( 6F22) . The bat t ery is expect ed
t o last a m inim um of one year under norm al condit ions. I f t he
bat t ery is ( alm ost ) em pt y, t he sm oke det ect or will indicat e t his
wit h an audible " beep" t one. This indicat or will sound at
int ervals of 30 ¨ C 40 seconds for at least 7 days. Replace t he
bat t ery when t his sound is heard. I nsert ing t he bat t ery is very
sim ple: rem ove t he sm oke det ect or from t he base plat e and
replace t he bat t ery.
4 . Ca u t ion : Always press on t he t est but t on aft er you
replace t he bat t ery.
5 . Ca u t ion : Do not cover t he sm oke det ect or wit h t ape! When
SMOKE is det ect ed, you will hear a loud
int erm it t ent sound ( 85dB) .
6 . Re com m e n da t ion : I ncrease t he det ect ion area by inst alling
several sm oke det ect ors.
