THE BREAST PUMP AND BREAST-
FEEDING
Breastfeeding is a very important stage
in a baby's and in a mother's life. For
babies, latching on and sucking is
notthemeresatisfactionofaprimary
physiologicalneed,itisalso,andmore
importantly,apreciousmomentinthe
relationshipwiththeirmothers,fullof
emotions and tactile, auditory, gusta-
tory, and olfactory sensations. Satisfy-
ing this need gives a great feeling of
tranquillityandwell-beingtoboththe
motherandherchild.
Breast milk contains all the nutrients
required to meet infants' nutritional
and psychological needs at least for
thefirst6monthsoftheirlives.
Chicco'selectricBreastPumphelpsex-
tendbreastfeeding,intheeventofex-
cess milk or when you cannot always
be with your baby. In such cases you
canexpressmilk,storeit,andgiveitto
babywhenrequired.
In order to guarantee the maximum
flexibilityandpracticality,theportable
electric Breast pump can be powered
both by AA type 1.5V batteries (not
supplied) and through a dedicated
mains adaptor (Mod. UE06WCP-
030200SPA).

PREPARATION
•   B eforeusingtheBreastpumpforthe
first time, please clean thoroughly
all the components* as shown in
the"CLEANING"paragraph.
• A ssemble then the breast pump as
follows:
• P lacethevalve(9)wellinsideonthe
circular duct within the base of the
pump body (2).
• P ushtheouteredgetopreventdam-
aging the valve and make sure that
bothclosingedgesoftheassembled
valvearejoinedtogether.
• P lace the motor body (3) onto the
pump body (2) and slide it on the
guidespushingitwelluntilreaching
itsendrun,asshowninfigure1.
•   W ARNING:duringthisoperationdo
not rotate and/or incline the motor
body (3) as the guides of the pump
body(2)maybreak.
• F or better comfort, it is possible to
assemble the silicone cover (1) onto
thepumpbody(2).Insertthesilicone
cover well inside the cone of the
pump body, and seal it around the
outer rim of the pump body. Press
thepadsofthecovertoremoveany
air trapped inside.
