General

The charger has two modes of operation.
1. Charge Mode (Charging a battery in the vehicle power system with subsequent trickle charging)
2. Support Mode (Buffering and external power supply of the vehicle power system)
If the charger is to be used for battery charging, the "charge mode" must be activated. After the battery
has been fully charged, the charger automatically switches to the trickle charge (charge retention) mode.
When diagnosing the vehicle, updating the control units, or change of the battery the charger can main-
tain the vehicles power system. For this purpose, the charger must be operated in „Support Mode . Being
s itched in Support Mode the charger will not expect any counter voltage by a battery and the unit is
not protected against reverse polarity!

Select Mode

The „Support Mode or the „Charge Mode can be selected by the touch display.
Preconditions:
1. The charger is connected to mains.
2. The charger is not connected to a battery.
Procedure:
Press for 5 seconds „Support Mode or „Charge Mode to change mode. The change of the operating mode
will be signalled additionally by the change of the background colour.
