to prevent it from falling and/or tipping over. This is also applicable when using clamping
elements which allow safe removal.
• Before starting unloading, the straps must be loosened so that the load can be lifted freely.
• During loading and unloading, attention must be paid to the proximity of any low overhead
lines.
5.1 OVERVIEW

5.2 PUTTING ON THE RATCHET BELT
Hook the S-hook of the loose part (position 1 in the overview) into a lashing eye or a suitable fas-
tening point on the loading area. Pull the unlocking lever (position 3 in the overview) as shown
in Fig. 2 and unroll the belt as far as required. Then release the unlocking lever . Arrange the strap
over the load to be secured. Attach the S-hook of the fixed piece (position 5 in the overview)
to a lashing eye or to a suitable fastening point on the loading area. To tighten the belt, pull
theunlocking lever and fold the ratchet lever (position 4 in the overview) upwards, Figure 3.
Then release the unlocking lever . By moving theunlocking lever back and forth you operate
the ratchet of the strap reel. This will tighten the strap. If the strap is tightened firmly, press the
unlocking lever down until it rests on the notch, Figure 3. The ratchet lever must remain in this
position during transport.
DURING TRANSPORT, THE RATCHET LEVER MUST BE
OF THIS POSITION.

5.3 RELEASING THE RATCHET STRAP
Make sure that, when releasing the ratchet strap, the load is not able
to fall over or down. There is a risk of injuries and the vehicle/load
may be damaged.
Pull the release lever and push the ratchet lever all the way down. The lashing strap is now free.
Pull the lashing strap out of the reel until you can remove the S-hooks from the lashing eyelets.
Then release the release lever. Remove the lashing strap from the load.
To retract the ratchet strap, pull the release lever.
Guide the loose part of the ratchet strap with one hand during
retraction to avoid injury from an uncontrolled end of the strap.

6. STORAGE AND MAINTENANCE
6.1 STORAGE
• Only store the straps in dry, lightly heated spaces.
• Protect from major sunlight.
• Do not dry or store the strap in the vicinity of fire, radiators, heating pipes or other locations
with extreme temperatures.
• Never store with chemicals.

6.2 MAINTENANCE

Maintenance work may only be carried out by the manufacturer or persons named by the ma-
nufacturer.

7. NOTES REGARDING ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Dispose of the ratchet strap via the residual or household waste when it is taken out of service,
in the event of tears, cuts or abrasion wear.
