Lectern with Amplifier System
These instructions are intended for users
without any special technical knowledge .
Please read the instructions carefully prior to
operation and keep them for later reference .
All operating elements and connections de-
scribed can be found on page 2 .
1 Overview
1 Input MIC 1 (XLR jack) with 24 V phantom
power to connect a microphone to input
channel 1 [as an alternative to the jack (18)
on the rear]
2 XLR jack to connect a gooseneck light to
illuminate the reading surface
3 Screw to fasten the name plate of the per-
son speaking
4 Input MIC 2 (XLR jack) with 24 V phantom
power to connect a microphone to input
channel 2 (as an alternative to the jack
on the rear)
5 Reading surface with glass plate
6 Compartment for a laptop/tablet comput-
er or for notes; the flap of the compart-
ment can be locked in various positions
7 Switch for illumination of the compart-
ment (2 brightness levels) and for an
additional gooseneck light connected to
the XLR jack (2)
8 Power strip
9 Rocker switch LIFT to adjust the height of
the lectern
10 Transmitter module for wireless transmis-
sion of the mixed signal, e . g . to another
amplifier system
11 Receiver module for two wireless micro-
phones
12 Shelves; e . g . for lecture papers / notes and
this in struction manual
13 POWER switch
14 Mains jack for connection to a socket
(230 V/ 50 Hz) via the mains cable provided

Always replace a blown fuse by one of
the same type!

The control for channel 3 is also used to
adjust the volume of the wireless receiver .

The XLR contacts of the input channels
1 and 2 are supplied with 24 V phantom
power, e . g . for electret microphones .

each channel 1– 3
20 RCA inputs AUDIO IN to connect an
audio source with line level to input chan-
nel  4; when both jacks are connected
(e . g . stereo signal from a CD player), the
signals will create the sum (mono)

the mixed signal, e . g . to a recorder or an-
other amplifier system
22 LED LIMITER; will light up when the input
level is too high and is reduced by the
limiter

2 Safety Notes

The product corresponds to all relevant di-

WARNING The product uses dangerous
mains voltage . Leave ser-
vicing to skilled personnel .
Inexpert handling may result
in electric shock .
The product is suitable for indoor use only .
Protect it against dripping water, splash
water and high air humidity . The admissi-
ble ambient temperature range is 0 – 40 °C .
Do not operate this product and immedi-
ately disconnect the mains plug from the
socket
1 . if the lectern or the mains cable is visibly
damaged,
2 . if a defect might have occurred the after
product was dropped or suffered a sim-
ilar accident,
3 . if malfunctions occur .
Any repairs must be carried out by spe-
cialists .
Never pull the mains cable to disconnect
the mains plug from the socket, always
seize the plug .
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never
use water or chemicals .
No guarantee claims for the product and no
liability for any resulting personal damage
or material damage will be accepted if the
product is not correctly used, if it is not
securely set up or not expertly repaired .
If the product is to be put out of
operation definitely, dispose of the
product in accordance with local
regulations .
3 Applications
The lectern SPEECH-500/GR consists of a
high-quality 2-way speaker system, a mix-
ing amplifier with four input channels and a
receiver module for two wireless microphones .
It is ideally suited to reproduce sound, e . g . for
lectures, speeches, readings etc . The optional
wireless microphones offer additional mobility
(e . g . for passing round the microphones in
the audience when questions arise) .
In addition to three microphones, it will
also be possible to connect other audio units
(e . g . CD player for adding music) . Via the
jacks LINE OUT, REC, the output signal will
be routed to a recorder or to another ampli-
fier system . The lectern also offers a wireless
transmitter for wireless transmission, for ex-
ample, to another amplifier system .
The glass plate of the reading surface
allows the person speaking to see a laptop /
tablet computer or notes in the compartment
underneath . The integrated illumination of
the compartment underneath the glass plate
offers two brightness levels . In addition, a
gooseneck light can be connected to the lec-
tern to illuminate the reading surface .
The height of the lectern is electrical-
ly adjustable . The lectern is equipped with
four castors and can therefore be easily
transported .
