7. Starting, operation
Adjustment of the switch point
For the switch point adjustment the following auxiliary materials are required the switch
has to be pressurized. We recommend using air for the adjustment of pneumatic switches
up to 16 bar / membrane type and water or oil for hydraulic switches 16 – 400 bar / piston
type (exception EPDM O-Ring). Furthermore a 2 mm wrench key is needed for the adjust-
ment and for the reference point measurement e.g. a mechanical gauge, digital gauge
or pressure transducer with display. For the switching status indication a multimeter or
L-plug with LED and battery can be used.
Step 1 (Assembly)
Connect the switch to the device for generating pressure and to the switching status indicator.
For your own safety: make sure that the switch is separated from electrical

Step 2 (Reading switch-point)
The adjustment of the switching point is made under pressure. Raise the pressure over the
switch-point and release the pressure afterwards. Repeat this step until the switch-point
remains stable within the repeatability (see datasheet).
Step 3
The switch has the best performance and durability when the switch point is in the middle
of the adjustment range.
The switching point is set via a 2 mm wrench key (S4150; S4250) or via the adjustment knob
(S4340, S4350). By turning clockwise the switching point is raised, by turning anti-clockwise
the switch point is decreased. After each turning repeat step 2 until reaching the requested
switch point.
