6.20 SMS service

With this module, you can easily write and send an SMS. Once the GSM module has dialled into the
GSM network, you can generate an SMS text in Communication / SMS service and send it to the
entered telephone number with SMS send. The message text is limited to 160 digits. You may not enter
any umlauts (ä,ö,ü).
This not only serves persons having difficulty to read the display on a handy, but also those having diffi-
culty to type an SMS.

7. Commissioning and configuration

The module may only be commissioned after it has been installed contact-free in a
casing.
Prior to commissioning the module group, check whether it is suited for the intend-
ed application!
In case of doubt, you must contact an expert or the manufacturer!
Do not insert the SIM card yet!
• Connect the antenna on the circuit board next to the TELIT module and attach this as far away from
the module as possible.
• Start the software "Control module". Go to Communication and set the COM interface detected in
the device manager.
• Connect the operating voltage and click on Status in the software.
• The green GSM LED (no. 10) starts to blink after a while.
Without inserted SIM card (or wrong pin), the module enters the programming mode
and reports "Wrong PINCODE"! Waiting for data...".
• Now transfer the data to the module with the button Send. Wait until the message „All data trans-
ferred" appears in the status window. Once the configuration was transmitted, the module performs
a restart.
• After successful data transfer, detach the operating voltage again to insert the SIM card.
• You also need an activated SIM card issued by any provider for commissioning. The PIN of the SIM
card must be 4-digit and PIN query must be activated, meaning the PIN query must appear when you
insert the card into a mobile phone.
