5. Assembly/Installation
All the connecting cables must not be bent or squeezed. This can result in malfunc-
tions, short circuits and defects in the device.
Make sure that cables are not damaged when drilling or bolting in place.
The module may only be commissioned after it has been installed contact-free in a
casing.
This product generates high frequency. Never operate it in the vicinity of medical
devices (e.g. pacemakers) and/or medial equipment (e.g. in hospitals).
Look for a suitable installation site.
A suitable place for installation of the GSM switching module has the following features:
• Vibration-free
• No direct sunlight
• No obstacles that may impair the reception quality
Select a place for mounting which is not shielded by, for example, reinforced con-
crete walls, steamed up mirrors or metal shelves. There should be no devices with
strong electrical fields, such as mobile telephones, radios or electrical motors, close
to the device. This especially applies for the antenna.
5.1 Checking the reception quality at the
installation site
To prevent wrong installation, we recommend checking the reception quality at the intended installation
site beforehand. To do so, take a mobile phone and check the reception quality.
