2.2.1

Temperature Control

DOL 278AT monitors the temperature in the house via its own temperature sensor. The temperature
controlled emergency opening system will be released only when the inside temperature exceeds the
temperature to which the emergency opening system has been set (Emergency opening temperature).
"Temperature controlled" means that a slight overtemperature results in slow opening to prevent
undercooling of the house. Similarly, a higher overtemperature results in faster opening.
2.2.2

Outside Temperature Compensation

The outside temperature compensation raises the limit for the time at which DOL 278AT is to activate
emergency opening, as the limit follows changes in the outside temperature. When the outside
temperature increases, the emergency opening limit increases, too.
Example 1: Emergency opening at 20° C and 30° C outside temperature
DOL 278AT is set to 25° C
Outside temperature is 20° C
Summer limit here is 7° C
When the outside temperature
reaches 18° C and above, a yellow
lamp will indicate active outside
temperature compensation.
Between 20° C and 30° C, a gradual transition from 7° C to 3° C takes place.
When the emergency opening limit is raised because of high outside temperatures, one or more yellow
lamps indicate outside temperature (the lamps may use flashing patterns to indicate various error
conditions, see DOL 278AT Technical manual).
Activate the outside temperature compensation function by setting the DOL 278AT jumper J7 to ON,
see DOL 278AT Technical manual.
2.2.3

Battery and Power Supply

DOL 278AT's built-in battery and charger ensure that the winches also open temperature controlled,
emergency-wise, in case of overtemperature in connection with power failure.
During normal operation, DOL 278AT also supplies 24 V DC to the climate computer which cannot
itself supply many or powerful winch motors, such as DA 75.

2.3 Weekly Testing

The emergency opening system MUST be tested once a week in order to ensure that the
emergency opening system works faultlessly.
During the summer season, the test is carried out early in the morning when the flaps have
not yet opened completely.
