required measuring unit. In this way, measuring
units can also be changed even when the length,
area or volume measuring functions have already
been set (for setting these functions, see below).
SETTING THE MEASURING
FUNCTIONS (LENGTH, AREA,
VOLUME)
• Press the "FUNC" button to scroll through
the measuring functions from length, which
is indicated on the display by a symbol of an
arrow between objects
, to area which is
indicated by a rhomboid
, to the volume
function indicated by a cube
.
• With the length, area or volume measuring func-
tion set, hold down the "FUNC" button to set
the measuring units m/ft/in, as described in the
above paragraph about setting measuring units.
SETTING THE STARTING
MEASURING POINT
• The device enables the starting measuring point
to be set from the front of the device , or from
the back of the device , where the measuring
distance also includes the length of the device,
which is important when measuring the distance
between walls, where the device is placed up
against the wall and there is no need to add the
length of the device to the measured distance.
• Set the starting measuring point by simultaneous-
ly holding down the buttons "FUNC" and "C/OFF"
until the above described symbol appears on the
display. We recommend simultaneously holding
down both buttons in various interval durations
until the required symbol is shown on the display.
MEASURING LENGTH
• After setting the measuring function indicated
by the
symbol on the display, press the
"MEASURE" button, which will project a laser
EN
beam and then press the "MEASURE" button again
to measure the length. Pressing the "MEASURE"
button again will move the measured value to the
top row on the display (previous value memory)
and pressing "MEASURE" once more will display
the current measured value on the bottom row
of the display. Pressing and holding down the
"FUNC" button will gradually show the measured
value on the display in m/ft/in measuring units.
Pressing the "C/OFF" button will show the pre-
viously measured value on the display. Pressing
the "C/OFF" button again will delete the last
measured value.
CONTINUAL LENGTH
MEASUREMENT FUNCTION
• After setting the measuring function indicated by
the symbol
on the display, hold down the
"MEASURE" button, which will set the continual
length measurement function, where the device is
continually measuring the distance and the current
measured distance is shown on the display. This
function can be exited by pressing the "C/OFF"
button or by pressing the "MEASURE" button.
MEASURING AREA
• After setting the measuring function indicated
by the symbol
on the display, press the
"MEASURE" button to project the laser beam and
press the "MEASURE" button again to measure
the length of the first and then the second side
of the area, where, after the measurement of
the second side of the area, the calculated area
will automatically be shown on the bottom of
the row in the initially set measuring units. Hold
down the "FUNC" button to gradually display the
calculated area in measuring units m
/ft
/in
.

MEASURING VOLUME
• After setting the measuring function indicated
by the symbol
on the display, press the
28
"MEASURE" button to project the laser beam and
press the "MEASURE" button again to gradually
measure the length of the first, the second and
then the third side, where, after the measure-
ment of the third side, the calculated volume

V. Safety instructions for work with laser devices
• Prevent children, physically and mentally unfit per-
sons and uninstructed persons from using the device.
Ensure that children do not play with the device.
• Do not remove the technical rating label from
the device.
LASER
2
• Never look into a laser beam. This could result in
damage to eye sight. In the event that a laser
beam enters your eye, immediately close
your eye and move your head out of the
line of the laser beam. It is not possible to use
standard eye protection aids such as for example
sun glasses with UV filters for protection against
the laser. Never view the beam with optical
devices and equipment.
• Never point the laser beam at people, animals
or at yourself.

Rectification
Insert new batteries.
Place a thin light-coloured material such as a picture of a
target on to the laser beam impact spot and hold the de-
vice firmly and motionless on the same measuring spot.
Place a thin dark material such as a target picture on
to the laser beam impact spot.
Table 1
• Do not use the device in an environment with an
explosion or fire hazard, where there are flam-
mable materials, flammable gases or dust.
• Do not disassemble the device and do not
modify it in any way.
• Do not point the beam at mirror surfaces. The
beam could be deflected and hit the eyes of people.
• When not using it, turn the laser off. This could
result in eyes being hit.
• Do not place the device near data storage
devices, pacemakers and devices sensitive to
magnetic fields. A magnetic field could result in
the loss of data, endanger the life of a user with
a pacemaker or damage sensitive devices.
• Place the device on a stable surface in a safe location.
• The laser device is sensitive equipment, so
protect it against impacts and rough handling.
Protect the laser beam outlet window (lens)
against breakage and soiling.
