3) Connect the IDE cable and the power cable to the DynaMO 640AI
Attach the IDE cable and power cable as shown in the figure of section 2.2.

• Some IDE cables may not have a notch to
align the cable in to the IDE connector. If your
cable does not have the notch, use the
following procedure to attach the IDE cable.
Improper connection of the IDE cable can
cause drive or system problems.
1. The IDE cable has a colored wire at the
edge of the ribbon cable. (See figure)
2. Insert the IDE cable connector so that the
colored wire connects to pin 1 of the drive
as shown.
• If you have to add an additional IDE cable,
refer to the manual of your PC for the IDE
cable connection. Use only flat ribbon type
IDE cable.
• If your PC does not have an available power
connector, you will need to attach a Y type
power cable to your existing PC
configuration.
