4 Principles of Measurement

The ISO-TECH IIT-2301 Insulation and Continuity Tester
performs two basic electrical functions. As a continuity
tester the instrument can be used to measure low values of
resistance between two points in an electrical circuit. In this
mode the instrument acts as a low voltage current source. The
resistance is calculated from the measurement of the voltage
across and the current through the conductor and displayed
directly on the meter. To avoid measurement errors, ensure the
instrument has a good low impedance connection to the circuit
under test. Circuits connected in parallel with the circuit under
test may affect the accuracy of measurements.
