10.3. Replace paint needle
seal retainer
Notice!
If both paint needle seal retainers
are damaged, material can es-
cape from the gun body inspec-
tion hole [1-16].
→ Replace paint needle seal re-
tainer immediately.
Remove paint needle seal retainer
■ Unscrew and remove control cap
[9-1].
■ Remove washer [9-2] and spring
[9-3].
■ Unscrew and remove end cap [9-4].
■ Remove both springs [9-5], [9-6].
■ Remove paint needle [9-7].
■ Unscrew and remove four machine
screws [9-10] with Allen wrench.
■ Remove nozzle head [9-9] from gun
body [9-8].
Material side [10]
■ Use socket wrench [10-3] to unscrew
seal retainer [10-2] from nozzle head
[10-1] .
Air side [11]
■ Use screwdriver [11-3] to unscrew
seal retainer [11-2] from gun body
[11-1].
■ Check seal retainer for damage and
contamination, clean or replace as
required.
Install new paint needle seal retainer
Material side [10]
■ Screw seal retainer [10-2] into nozzle
head [10-1] using socket wrench
[10-3].

Air side [11]
■ Use screwdriver [11-3] to screw seal
retainer [11-2] into gun body [11-1].
Secure with Loctite 242.
■ Position nozzle head [9-9] on gun
body [9-8].
■ Tighten the four machine screws [9-
10] in a criss-cross pattern.
■ Insert paint needle [9-7].
■ Install both springs [9-5], [9-6].
■ Screw on end cap [9-4].
■ Install spring [9-3].
■ Insert washer [9-2] into control cap
[9-1].
■ Screw on control cap.
■ Readjust the material flow rate pa-
rameters using the dials (see Chap.
9.2).
10.4. Replacing the flat fan
control spindle
Remove spindle
■ Unscrew counter-sunk screw [12-4].
■ Remove control knob with graduated
dial [12-3] .
■ Unscrew and remove spindle [12-2]
using SATA universal wrench.
■ Pull off dial [12-1].
Install new spindle
■ Attach dial [12-1].
■ Screw in spindle [12-2] using SATA
universal wrench.
■ Attach control knob with index ring
[12-3] .
■ Screw in counter-sunk screw [12-4]
until hand tight. Secure with Loctite
