AV Radio Transmission System 5.8 GHz
Item-No. 94 23 57
Intended Use
The radio transmission system is intended for wireless transmission of video, audio and infrared
signals around the home and is suitable for audio and video devices customarily use in house-
holds.
The transmitter and receiver are only approved for connection to the wall plug transformers sup-
plied.
The wall plug transformers are only suitable for use with normal household mains sockets with
230 V~/50 Hz alternating voltage.
The entire system must only be used in indoor rooms. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with mois-
ture, for example in bathrooms, must be avoided.
Any other use than that described above, could lead to damage to this product and involves the risk
of short circuits, fire, electric shock, etc.
Please observe the regulations concerning radio operation in your country when using this
product.
No part of the product may be modified or rebuilt and the housing must not be opened.
The safety instructions must be observed at all times.
This product complies with the applicable National and European specifications.
Safety Instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these safety instructions. We do not assume liability for any resulting damage.
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by
improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions. The warranty will
be void in such cases.
An exclamation mark inside a triangle indicates important instructions in the
operating manual.
The „hand" symbol indicates special information and advice on operating the
device.
• For safety and approval (CE) reasons, unauthorised conversion and/or modifications to the
product are not permitted.
• The wall pug transformer provided is constructed according to protection class II.
• Only connect the wall plug transformers to standard mains sockets (230 V~ / 50 Hz). The actu-
al radio transmission system is only to be supplied with energy via the enclosed wall plug trans-
formers.
• To disconnect the radio transmission system completely from the mains, the wall plug trans-
formers must be disconnected from the mains sockets.
• Never replace a damaged power cable. If the connecting cable is damaged, the power unit is
unusable and must be disposed of. Do not repair.
• Devices, operated by the mains voltage, must be kept out of the reach of children. For this rea-
son, be particularly cautious when using the system in the presence of children. They may try
to poke objects into it through openings in the housing. There is danger of a life-threatening
electric shock.
• Check the radio transmission system from time to time for damage. Do not touch a power pack,
the transmitter, the receiver or the connection cables if they show signs of damage. First,
switch off at the mains socket to which the product is connected (e.g. with the circuit breaker),
and then carefully unplug the transformer from the mains socket. Do not use the product after-
wards, instead take it to a specialist workshop.
• Never place vessels or containers containing liquids, such as glasses, buckets, vases or
plants, in the immediate vicinity of the system. Liquids may seep into the casing and thus
impair the electrical safety of the device. Furthermore, there is a significant risk of fire or of a
lethal electric shock! In such an event, isolate the mains socket, to which the product is con-
nected (e.g. switch off the automatic fuse), and unplug the wall plug transformer from the
mains socket. Afterwards, the product can no longer be used; take it to a specialist workshop.
• Do not expose the system to high temperatures, humidity, dripping or sprayed water, strong
vibrations or heavy mechanical loads.
• Do not place naked flames, such as burning candles, on or close to the system.
• If you have doubts about how the equipment should be operated or how to safely connect it,
consult a trained technician.
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. It may become a dangerous plaything for children.
• Never leave the system running unsupervised.
• Do not use the system in a tropical climate.
• Observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices that are connected to the
radio transmission system as well as the other safety instructions in the individual chapters of
these instructions.
• If in doubt about how to connect the device correctly, or should any questions arise that are
not answered in these operating instructions, please contact our technical advisory service or
another specialist.
Product Description
The radio transmission system consists of a transmitter and a receiver.
The sender receives the audio and video signals from the AV source device (e.g. DVD player)
and converts these into a 5.8 GHz radio signal. The receiver receives this radio signal and con-
verts it back to the original audio and video signals.
At the same time, the receiver converts the infrared remote control signals into a radio signal and
sends them back to the transmitter.
Based on the technique described above, both audio/video signals and the control signals from
infrared controls can be transmitted without cables and through walls.
The signals from the AV source can then be reproduced in another room on a device (e.g. TV
set) located there and, in addition, the AV source can be controlled from there by means of its
remote control.

Connection
This radio transmission system is only suitable for low-voltage video and audio
signals. Only connect devices with such connections.
If in doubt, consult an expert.
If these instructions are not observed, the radio transmission system or con-
nected devices could be damaged.
Connecting Transmitter and Receiver
• Connect the enclosed AV line for the transmitter (labelled TRANSMITTER) to the AV IN socket on
the transmitter (labelled „WIRELESS TRANSMITTER" on the name plate).
• Plug the Scart plug, on the other end of the AV line, into the Scart socket of the AV source
(DVD player, video recorder, SAT receiver etc.).
• Connect the enclosed AV line for the receiver (labelled RECEIVER) to the AV IN socket on the
receiver (labelled „WIRELESS RECEIVER" on the name plate).
• Plug the Scart plug, on the other end of the AV line, into the Scart socket of the TV set.
Connecting the IR Cables
• Connect the IR receiver with the IR-R socket on the receiver (labelled „WIRELESS RECEIV-
ER" on the name plate).
• Place the IR receiver close to your TV, so it is within the transmission range of the remote con-
trol.
You can fix the IR receiver in place with the self-adhesive tape supplied.
• Connect the IR transmitter to the socket IR-T on the transmitter (labelled „WIRELESS TRANS-
MITTER" on the name plate).
• Using the enclosed adhesive pads, attach the IR transmission diodes to the IR receiving
sensors on the devices you want to control.
• Leave an area around the IR receiver sensors free, so the devices can still be controlled by
the remote control.
The position for the IR receiving sensor, on the device you want to control, can be seen
in the relevant operating instructions. A maximum of three devices can be connected.
Connecting the Power Units
Only use the enclosed wall plug transformers for connecting to the mains.
Only a 230 V~/50 Hz mains socket connected to the public grid may be used to
power for the wall plug transformers. Never try to operate the devices with any
other voltage.
When making the connections, make sure that the connecting cables are not
pinched or damaged by sharp edges.
The mains sockets, to which the power units are connected, must be easily
accessible, so the wall plug transformers can be quickly removed from the
mains voltage in the case of a fault.
• Connect the power unit's low-voltage plugs to the 7.5 DC jacks on the transmitter and the
receiver.
Both power units are identical. Therefore, it is irrelevant which power unit is connect-
ed to which device.
• Plug the power unit into the wall mains socket.
