4. CHAIN REPLACEMENT
A chain typically lasts between 2,000 miles and 5,000 miles, depending on the
conditions of use and on the frequency and quality of maintenance opera-
tions. Use a high precision caliper gauge to measure, in different points of the
chain, the length as indicated in fig. 21. If even one of the measurement is
longer than 132.60 mm the chain must immediately be replaced.
