Using the device
Before commissioning the PKE motor-protective circuit-
breaker, the rated motor current must be set using the
setting dial on the PKE motor-protective circuit-breaker
(a Table 9, Page 40). The setting dial on the trip block has
16 detent positions. This makes the following settings
possible:

The motor-protective circuit-breaker features a test function
(a Figure 17, Page 44).
When the test function is operated with the motor-protective
circuit-breaker switched on, the PKE trips and all main
contacts open. The lines downstream of the PKE can then be
tested for zero voltage. To allow the powered-on PKE motor-
protective circuit-breaker to trip in its test position, a current
corresponding at least with the minimum set value of the trip
block must flow.
To maintain a proper working state, repeated testing of elec-
trical plants and equipment is necessary.

Faulty devices must not be opened and repaired. They
must be replaced by specialist personnel.
