Trestec Spelunca 10.1 mm, Beal Antipodes 11.5 mm, CAMP Quasar 9.9 mm, CAMP Magnon 11 mm.
Warning: the stated diameter of ropes on the market may have a tolerance of up to +/- 0.2 mm.
Braking effectiveness and ease of giving slack can vary depending on the diameter, construction, wear and tear, and
surface treatment of the rope and other variables, such as: frozen, muddy, wet, dirty ropes, etc.
At each use the user must familiarise him or herself with the braking effect of the device on the rope and ensure that the
rope is in good condition. Ensure that the lower end of the rope has stitching or a stop knot. The device may heat up during
descent and damage the rope: take care. Safe operation of the device is connected to the rope conditions: if the rope is
damaged it must be replaced.
Harness
Ÿ EN 12841B/C use: use with EN 813 sit harnesses (ventral attachment point).
Ÿ EN 12841A use: use with EN 361 full body harness (sternal or dorsal attachment points).
Ÿ EN 341/2A use: use with EN 361 and/or EN 813 and/or EN 1496 and/or EN 1497 harnesses.
Ÿ EN 15151-1 use: use with EN 12277 and/or EN 813 harnesses.
Ÿ ANSI/ASSE Z359.4 use: use with ANSI/ASSE Z359.1 and/or Z359.4 and/or Z359.11 full body harnesses.
Carabiner
Exclusive use of carabiners with locking gate. Oval shaped carabiners are recommended, length 110 mm (+/- 10 mm).
Ÿ EN 12841A/B/C and EN 341/2A use: EN 361 class B carabiners.
Ÿ EN 15151-1 use: EN 12275 class B or X carabiners.
Ÿ ANSI/ASSE Z359.4 use: ANSI/ASSE Z359.12 carabiners.
Anchoring
The anchors used must comply with EN 795 or be known to have resistance greater than 15 kN. Anchoring must always
be placed above the user. Avoid any slack on the rope. Anchoring may be below the user and is able to sustain falls solely
and exclusively in the case of climbing progression during EN 15151-1 use of the device with dynamic ropes. Connection
to the anchoring point must be arranged in such a way so as not to impede descent.
USE
These instructions must be provided to the worker or to the rescuer. During use it is essential that the device always
remains under the user's control. We recommend wearing gloves; in case of long descents, avoid the contact with the
surfaces that are likely to become hot. Avoid to use the device or take proper precautions in case of working areas with
electrical, thermal, chemical hazards and/or around moving machinery, sharp edges, abrasive surfaces. Use adequate
rescue equipment and provide adequate training for the work crew so that they can quickly rescue the injured person to
minimise the suspension trauma effects.
