4. Rinse helmet shell and visors with clear water and wipe dry.
5. Apply anti-fogging spray kp-Comfort to visors if needed.

The visors can also be cleaned with alcohol-free glass
cleaner or kp-Comfort.
When the internal helmet components must be disinfected:
1. Prepare a disinfection bath of water and a disinfectant.
2. Place all parts to be disinfected into the disinfection bath
(duration: 15 minutes).
3. Rinse all parts thoroughly under running water.
4. Allow all parts to air-dry or dry in the drying cabinet
(temperature: max. 60 °C). Keep away from direct sunlight.
5.2.2 Visors with coating
1. Clean visors with anti-scratch or gold coating with
lukewarm soapy water or water only, then rinse with clear
water and wipe dry.
2. Clean visors with anti-fog coating with lukewarm water only
and let them dry in the air.
5.3

the fireman, but by service personnel. They are therefore

Transport

The fire helmet may be carried in a helmet bag or tote. If the
fire helmet is packed in a polybag or wrapped in a sufficient
amount of wrapping paper, it may be transported in a box as
well. All attached components may remain attached to the fire
helmet during transport. The visors should be open.

Storage

Store the fire helmet cool and dry in a safe place. Avoid
exposure to direct sunlight during storage in order to prevent
any possible long term damage to the coating due to ultraviolet
radiation (especially in case of fluorescent paint).
Store visors in a clean, dry area out of direct sunlight and high
humidity.
As part of the original packaging, the visors are wrapped in a
protective film. This film should be left as is for storage. After
removal of the protective film, we recommend that you store
the visor in its fully-mounted position on the fire helmet.
Never store close to aggressive substances (e. g. solvents,
fuels). Storage temperature of 0 °C to 45 °C at normal ambient
pressure and a relative humidity up to 90 %.

Disposal

8.1

Life span

Check serviceability after each use (see Section 4.5 on
Page 20). The life span of the helmet and the visors depends
on the following factors:

Optical class of the visors
The gold visors (R79262, R79156, R79465, R79373) have
also achieved the following filter classes:
Protection against ultra-violet light: Class 2-4

Protection against infrared light: Class 4-4

Welding protection filter: Class 4

Protection against radiant heat offered by the visor depends on
the temperature of the heat source: The higher the source
temperature, the more damaging the heat reaching the eye.
The visors should only be used in situations in which they are
able to limit damaging radiant heat to less than 100 W/m
