PREPARATION
We recommend: 1 apron or old t-shirt, 1 waterproof tablecloth to protect the table, 1 small bowl filled with water and cling film,
as well as sand paper.
BEGINNER MODE
Fit the transformer to the jack socket of the pedal.
2 templates are included (different shape on each side). Select the one you want to use and fit it to your pottery wheel.
Cover the cone with cling film (so that the clay detaches easily from the cone when you have finished).
Shape sheets of clay using the roller provided.
Apply the sheets of clay on your cone, starting from the bottom, until you have completely covered the cone. Regularly turn
the wheel and dampen the clay slightly with water. Add small pieces of clay to fill in the gaps, so that a definitive shape can be
formed using the template.
When filling in is complete, the template will scrape away any excess clay. Remove the surplus clay, dampen the clay on the
cone and delicately smooth your design with your hands.
Next, remove the top template holder, followed by the template.
Detach the base of your creation using the wire cutter (or a nylon thread). Gently lift the wheel with the vase.
Turn it over to slide the cone out of the vase. Leave it to air dry.
WARNING! DO NOT BAKE THE CLAY.
ADVANCED MODE
In this mode, you are more involved in the creation process, as you can alter an existing model.
To do this, make a model with one of the templates.
When the model is formed, remove the top template holder, followed by the template and the bottom template holder.
Cut the model to the desired height using the wire cutter. You can, for example, cut quite high up to make a small pot.
Remove the surplus clay with the knife tool.
The cone keeps the clay centred, so you can model it into shape using your fingers. Dampen the pot and use your fingers to shape
it (for example, you can round off the edges). You can also use the tools supplied to create grooves or make a ribbed pattern.
Carefully remove the cling film.
