Product description
ATTENTION!!! Before starting installation, switch off
power supply in the electrical system Connection to the
electrical system must be made by skilled personnel with
licenses!
• The supply duct should be connected with the KOM
fan using a return air damper, which is an additional
protection of the fan against too high temperature
accumulating in the fan operation chamber as a result
of e.g.: lack of power in the network,
• Plug in the supply cable to earthed power supply
network
Filtering box (placed before KOM) slows down warm air
reaching the fan, and thus you should decrease the preset
temperature of the thermostat so as to prevent delay of
the KOM fan start-up. In KOM fans there is a possibility of
applying MICROPROCESSOR TEMPERATURE REGULATOR
ERO-300.
This regulator performs the following functions: Controls
temperature of the air blown in and air in the room in
which the control panel is mounted. Depending on these
two values, the controller regulates motor rotations so as
to heat air in the rooms to the value set by the user.
Furthermore, ERO 300 protects the fan against damage by
switching on the motor when that temperature exceeds
145°C. This is signalled with sound signal as alarm
(regardless of whether the system is on or off ). In "rotation
controller* operation mode, it enables smooth adjustment
of rotations in the range from 10% to 100% maximum
rotations of the KOM fan. In "temperature regulator"
operation mode, it enables stabilization of temperature in
the room in the range from 8°C to 30°C by smooth
regulation of warm air blow-in.
MAINTENANCE:
1. KOM fan: In order to remove contamination from the
interior of the fan, the following should be done:
• disconnect the fan from the power supply network,
• wait until the fan reaches temperature ca.... 25°C,
• disassemble the fan,
• disassemble the fan casing so as to have free access to the
turbine,
• wash all parts with a damp cloth with a small
quantity of detergent, minding not to wet the
motor, the thermostat or the electrical
connections,
• after wiping all elements of the fan to dry, the
casing should be assembled back,
• mount the fan at the place of destination,
• connect the fan to the power supply network.
2. AIR FILTER:
• remove the filter insert,
• wet the insert in water with a small quantity of detergent,
• rinse with a stream of cold water,
• dry thoroughly,
• put the insert in the box.
Advantages: KOM fan has many protections against damage:
• heat-exchanging motor radiator,
• thermal protection of the motor,
• vents removing heat from the winding of the motor,
• cooling of the motor axle thanks to the application of a
special-design aluminum propeller,
• motor location beyond the operation chamber,
• vents in the fan casing permitting discharge of heat,
• rolling bearings extending motor life.
MOTOR MAINTENANCE: Each motor should be subjected to
periodical inspections depending on the conditions under
which it operates, however, not less frequently than once
every two years. The inspection includes cleaning and
external visual inspection of the motor's startup protecting
equipment. The inspection should be performed by an
authorized person, with appropriate qualifications. The
following must be checked: resistance of insulation and
winding, resistance of earthing, condition of bearings.
During power failures, the fan motor ceases to pump hot air.
Therefore, it does not produce vacuum in the inlet chamber,
which, in turn, makes the internal throttle close. This throttle
separates the inlet chamber from the operation chamber,
which prevents accumulation of high temperature in the KOM
III fan. Hot air from the fireplace is directed by the force of
gravity down to the second connection in the inlet chamber,
bypasses the rotor and flows through the second throttle or T-
pipe to reach the distribution network.
The last throttle opens automatically due to missing motor
operation. It is important to remember that it should be
installed in the vertical position, so that during the absence of
power it can open freely!
CAUTION !!! In fireplace fans KOM II 400, KOM II 600 and KOM
II 800 and in KOM fans III 400 by-pass, KOM III 600 by-pass and
KOM III 800 by-pass, on the outlet flange there are self
adhesive temperature labels by BRADY. These are 6-field
stickers in the temperature range from 149°C - 177°C on
which, depending on the surface temperature, temperature
indicating fields blacken permanently.
During the installation of (TERMOFLEKS) duct to the outlet
flange, care must be taken not to damage the stuck label. A
complaint may be acknowledged only if there is not
damaged, not blackened by too high temperature and not
unstuck BRADY label, otherwise the client shall lose the right
to complaint.
