6. MAINTENANCE

• Before washing the air filter, stop the unit operation and turn off the circuit breaker.
The fan rotates at high speed may cause injury.
• Do not wash the unit with water.
Water may cause short circuit or electric shock.
• When cleaning the air filter, ensure that you have a good footing.
If you are standing on a ladder or other types of platform, ensure that it is secured to avoid accident.
Removing the air filters
1 Open the inlet grille.
Push the two knobs in the inlet grille in the
direction of the arrow to open the inlet grille.
2 Remove the main air filters.
Push the knobs on the main air filters in the direction
of the arrow to release it from the inlet grille tabs,
and then take out the main air filters.
• When removing the inlet grille
Push the lever at the center of the inlet grille hinge
and then pull the inlet grille in the direction of the
arrow to remove it.
• The main air filter on the right side of the main
unit has a side air filter attached to it
1. Press side air filter tabs 1 and 2 in that order to
release the side air filter.
2. Pull the side air filter away from the hinge that joins
it to the main air filter to remove it from the main air filter.
Installing the air filters
1. After cleaning the air filters, attach the side filter to the main air filter.
2. Install the air filters to the inlet grille by the reverse procedures of removal.
3. Close the inlet grille.
4. Push the two knobs in the direction of the arrow to secure the inlet grille.
NOTES
• Do not operate the air conditioner with the air filters removed. Otherwise, foreign particles will block the inside of the air
conditioner and cause operation problems.
• The illustrations of the procedures of "removing and installing the air filters" above are meant for the air conditioner of
3HP and lower. As for 4HP to 6HP, the indoor unit have three inlet grilles instead of two. (Procedures of removing and
installing the air filters for all the air conditioners are the same.)
Cleaning the inlet air filters
Indication for cleaning;
• For wired remote control...
"FILTER CLEAN" will appear on the remote control
display.
• For wireless remote control...
the filter indicator on the ray receiver will illuminate.
• Use vacuum cleaner or water to clean the air filter.
When the air filter is very dirty
Soak the filter in lukewarm water (45° or below) with
mild detergent.

Important notes:
• Clean the air filter every 1 1/2 months when operating the
unit in a dusty area.
• Dry the air filter in shade, away from fire or direct sunlight.
• If the air filter is damaged, please engage an authorized
dealer.
• After cleaning the air filter, press the FILTER RESET button
on the remote control to reset the "FILTER CLEAN" display
or the FILTER indicator of the ray receiver.
