REPLACING THE SPOOL (Fig. 7)
WARNING: Before making this replacement, make sure that the switch is in the "OFF" position and
disconnect the machine from the power supply.
9. Grip the spool holder firmly.
10. Squeeze the two securing tags on the side of the spool cover.
11. Pull the spool cover and spool out of the spool holder. The spring should be retained in the
housing.
12. Clean the inside of the spool holder carefully removing all ground and grass residues.
13. Thread the end of the cutting line of a replacement spool through the eyelet on the spool holder.
14. Push the replacement spool firmly inside the spool holder.
15. Refit the spool cover into the spool holder and push until it clicks into place. Make sure the spool
cover is fully seated into the spool holder and firmly held by its two securing tags.
16. Feed out the cutting line as described in the section "Adjusting the length of the cutting line".

EXTENSION CORD

Use only an extension cord that is labelled for outdoor
use.
Use an extension cord of the right dimensions to carry the
power required by the machine. A cord whose capacity is
too low will cause a loss of voltage at the machine.
Keep the extension cord clear of the cutting area. Make
sure that the cord does not get caught on anything during
cutting. Check the extension cord frequently. Replace a
cord that is cut or damaged.
The extension cord can become detached from the machine cable during use.
To avoid this, use the cord support (see Fig. 8)
