5. Device works on battery: If battery is 100% full.
After start up: Segment A + B + C are on.
After 5 seconds the whole battery icon disappears.
When the detector is idle for more than 30 seconds, it will switch to standby mode. The [On/Off - clear] key (1)
light will stay on but the display screen will turn off. When pressing a random key or when feeding a banknote, the
detector will automatically switch On. After 30 minutes in standby mode while operating on battery, the device will
turn Off automatically. When the detector is connected to the power adapter the device will remain in standby mode.

2.2 selecting modes add - Den
The machine can be set in 2 different modes:
• Add mode (Add), the machine will add the value and also show the total quantity of all the checked
banknotes on the display.
• Den mode (Den), the machine will show the denomination of the last note that has been tested.
To change the mode press [Mode/cur] key (3).
2.3 clear counting results
press the [On/Off - clear] key (1) once to clear all counting results.
2.4 report function
(only available if banknotes are detected in ADD mode)
When finished with detecting, press [report/Dir] key (2) to view the counting results. A single beep will sound. The
denomination and quantity of banknotes per denomination will appear on the display. Repeatedly pressing
[report/Dir] key (2) will display the next denomination and the quantity of banknotes counted, with a single beep
each time. After displaying the counting result of all denominations, pressing on the [report/Dir] key will generate a
double beep and the display will show the total quantity of banknotes counted as well as the total value.
2.5 self-test error codes
If error messages P01- P10 appear on the display window, it is likely that a sensor is blocked by dust. Please use
a brush or a piece of a cotton tip to clean the dust of the sensor, and then restart the machine. See chapter 4.0 for
more details.
3.0 currENcy sOfTwarE upDaTE prOcEDurE
When security features of banknotes change or new banknotes are issued, there is a need to update the detector
with new currency software. This can be done via the built-in USB port. Contact Safescan for assistance:
