Intrinsic safety
Some versions of the pager (check for the Ex symbol on type plate) are suitable for use in potentially explosive
atmospheres. If you do not have this symbol on your pager, please skip this section. The intrinsically safe
versions of the pager are designed, approved and produced in conformance with the rules laid down in the ATEX
directive 94/9/EC. If they are marked with the Ex logo the pagers can be used in areas at risk with potentially
explosive atmospheres as described in the directive.
Warning
Do not open or charge the pager in potentially explosive areas.
Explanation of the Pager Type plate:
Standard type plate (located under clip):
- LOGO - Manufacturer
- LBB 6094/25K: Commercial type number.
- 8900 606 92561: Order number.
- EH001282: Serial number
- HWK1/06: Hardware version 01 release 06
- WK0310 = year 2003, week 10).
- Made in Germany: Country of origin
- CE-mark: refers to the telecom directive 99/5/EC and the ATEX directive 94/9/EC.
The number (0344) refers to the identification number of the notified body (KEMA) consulted for the approval and
for the recognition of the required QualityAssurance System.
ATEX type plate (located below clip):
- LOGO and address of the manufacturer
- Ex symbol conforming to the ATEX directive 94/9/EC
- II: equipment intended for use in areas above-ground, not in mines
- 2G: a high level of protection in explosive atmospheres in which mixtures of air and gasses, vapours and
mists are present for long periods or frequently.
- 3D:a normal level of protection in explosive atmospheres in which air/dust mixtures are present
infrequently or for short periods only
- T50 °C: Max. surface temperature for the dust classification.
- EEx: Conforms to the harmonised
