MWW Cutting Torch Brenner 90 - Preparation
3.4

Gas Supply

The gas supply has to be in conformity with the valid regulations. The necessary
operating pressures and flow rates of the selected heating and cutting nozzles
must be reached. Pay attention to the pressure decrease caused by the hoses,
safety devices and pressure regulators. The table of consumption on page 20 de-
scribes the gas inlet pressures that are necessary while working with the cutting
torch.
For gas supply with gas cylinders you have to use cylinder racks. When using a 50
l acetylene cylinder, the maximum gas consumption for continuous operation is
about 500 l/h and for short-term usage approx. 1000 l/h. A 33 kg propane cylin-
der has a maximum gas output of 0.6 – 0.8 kg/h in continuous operation. For
short-term usage the maximum gas consumption is 2.0 – 3.0 kg/h. The number
of linked cylinders can be calculated using these values and the gas consumption
data listed on page 20.

Cutting and Heating Nozzles

MWW cutting nozzles or gouging nozzles can be used. The MWW cutting nozzles
for flat head are only compatible with the Brenner 90 flat head. The size of the
cutting nozzle depends on the thickness of the metal to be cut. The cutting noz-
zle has to be screwed into the head of the cutting attachment using a size 10
spanner. Following this, attach the heating nozzle.
The choice of the heating nozzle depends on the operating range and the type of
fuel gas. Only use the fuel gas indicated by the labeling of the heating nozzle, see
page 16. Details are shown in the gas consumption table on the following page.
Compatible nozzles are listed on page 25 f.
