2) Connect the supplied mains cable to the mains jack
(11), then connect it to a socket (230 V~/50 Hz).
3) Prior to switching on, set the volume control VOL
(6) to the position "0" to prevent any switch-on
noise.
4) Adjust the input sensitivity:
a) If a unit with line output is connected, release the
level selector (3). If a microphone is connected,
depress the button.
b) Set the control GAIN (4) to mid-position for the
time being.
5) Switch on the signal source connected.
6) Switch on the active speaker system with the mains
switch POWER (9). The power LED ON (8) lights
up.
7) Adjust the volume with the control VOL. From a cer-
tain volume, the LED SIGNAL (7) lights up to the
beat of the music.
If signal distortions occur because the level of
the input signal is too high, turn back the control
GAIN accordingly. If the desired volume is not
reached because the input signal is too low,
advance the control GAIN accordingly.
CAUTION Never adjust a very high volume.
Permanent high volumes may dam-
age your hearing! The human ear
will get accustomed to high volumes
which do not seem to be that high
after some time. Therefore, do not
further increase a high volume after
getting used to it.
8) Adjust the desired sound with the equalizer controls
(5): The LOW frequencies, the MID frequencies,
and the HIGH frequencies are adjustable to ±15 dB.
With the controls in mid-position, the sound is not
affected.
