Quick Zero reset
Zero reset is useful in those circumstances where the unit displays 0.0 but
the piston is not in its actual Zero position. This is for example possible
after Zippette has been disassembled for cleaning. To reset your true '0'
position follow these steps:
1. Press and hold the 'CAL' and 'ON' buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds in
order to enter the quick '0' calibration mode of the instrument. As soon
as the display shows 'Set' release the buttons and the diplay flashes 'CAL'.
2. Lower the piston to its lowest stop position. Where Zippette is
equipped with a spring, hold the piston at its lowest position. Turn the
volume setting button anti clockwise to a position which does not
allow any axial movement of the piston. This is your '0' position.
3. Press the 'CAL' button again – the display shows the word 'END' to
indicate that you have successfully reset the zero position.
How to Toggle between Factory Cailbration and
Customer Calibration
Returning to the factory set calibration is easy.
A. Press and hold the 'ON' and 'DOWN' buttons simultaneously for 5
seconds until the display shows the word 'FAC'.
To return to your user stored calibration:
B. Press and hold the 'ON' and 'UP' buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds
until the word 'USE' is shown on the display.
For quick check on current calibration mode of unit press 'ON' button
momentarily and 'FAC' or 'USE'. will be displayed momentarily.

'Sleep Mode' and Low Battery indication

The unit is designed to operate 1700 hours before the battery requires replacement. In order to preserve
the battery life, the unit reverts to 'sleep mode' after being idle for 3 minutes. A light touch on the 'ON'
button will 'wake' the unit up – alternatively, you can rotate the volume setting button and the unit will
display the volume on the LCD.
Whenever the battery requires replacement, the word 'bat' will flash on the screen for two seconds just
after waking the unit up. You can still continue to work with the unit for eight hours.
When you first power up the unit from sleep mode, the display will show which of two calibtration
modes it is using - either the factory calibration or the user calibration. 'FAC' indicates Factory whilst
'USE' indicates user calibration.
