To switch on the radio, depress button 3 — «OFF — ON».
After switching on the radio obtain medium volume level by tu rn in g the
volume control.
For listening on the medium and long w avebands turn the drum switch in
order to set the wanted band indicator against the band indicator window. T ur
n in g the tu ning control, set the tu ning pointer at the scale division corres
p onding to the received station wavelength. Then slowly turning the tu nin g control
in both directions get the fine tuning. Rotate the radio about its axis to get the best
reception with minimum interference.
For listening on the short wavebands turn the drum switch to set the required
waveband. Pull out carefully the telescopic aerial, first holding its head and then
each of 7 sections in succession ag ain st the stop.
It is not necessary to rotate the radio when using the telescopic aerial for
reception. When the external aerial is in use, push the telescopic aerial into the
body of the radio.
Use a linear scale to remember the location of stations on the tu ning scale.
It is not advisable to listen to powerful or local stations at the maximum
volume level because overload of the radio m ay cause distortions and parasite
whistle, especially when the station is not tuned in precisely.
Sharp tu n in g is provided by light indicator I. When the radio is tuned in
sharply to the station, the light of the tu ning indicator LEDs (some or all) goes
o ut or lessens to a visible minimum. The desired tone is obtained by tu rn in g slowly
control 11 in the high audio frequency ran ge and by pressing button 4 —
«BASS» in the bass frequency range. Repeated pressing of the button returns it
to the initial position.
The lighting of the dial is obtained by pressing button 2 — «LIGHT».
Repeated pressing of button 3 — «OFF — ON» switches off the radio.
CONNECTION OF ADDITIONAL FACILITIES
1. For tape recording connect the tape recorder stand ard plug to socket 7.
The radio volume level control m ust be set at the minimum volume position, and
recording level is adjusted in the tape recorder.
2. An external speaker (8 ohms) or headphones (50— 120 ohms) can be con
nected to headphone socket 10 by a stand ard plug.
3. An external power source can be connected to external power source socket 5
by a sta n d a rd plug.
