OLAER/OA-Technik QPM3 LOW PRESSURE PUMP |
At start-up
Make sure that:
• the direction of rotation corresponds to indications on
the pump cover by looking at the electric motor fan,
see Figure 4,
• the oil filter is free from abnormal noise and vibrations.
Make sure not to overload the electric motor due to cold
start conditions or operation with high oil viscosity.
Recommended operating viscosity range is 10 – 800 cSt
considering the motor power. Consult your local OLAER/
OA-Technik office when using high viscosity oils or when
the pump is operating in cold start condition.
For long service life, oil cleanliness should, according to
ISO 4406, not be below 17/15.
Note! Air in the inlet line could cause problem at start-up.
Make sure that the pump inlet is always filled with oil.
During operation
Caution Risk of personal injury and damage to prop-
erty. The pump must not be run in such a way that
the maximum pressure is exceeded, which could occur if the
pump outlet is closed or severely throttled. This could damage
the unit and cause personal injury.
Important Risk of heat release. Avoid internal recircula-
tion during a long period of time.
Note! Use hearing protection when standing in the immedi-
ate vicinity of an operating pump for long periods of time.
The pump is not provided with by-pass valve as standard.
Use pump with by-pass valve if the system is provided with
shut-off valves etc. or if the pump is exposed to cold starts.
Pump with internal or external by-pass valve is available as
option.

Preventive maintenance

Preventive maintenance work must be carried out at regular
intervals.
Make sure that the pump:
• is free from abnormal noise or vibrations,
• is securely fixed,
• is free from leaks.
Annually: Check the electrical installation. This may only
be made by a qualified electrician.
Under normal operating conditions the pump is maintenance
free. In extreme operating conditions the pump requires inspec-
tion, service or replacement of the pump and/or couplings.
Cleaning
Prior to cleaning the external of the pump, for instance
using water, disconnect all motor power supplies. Be aware
of the electric motor protection standard.
The Professional Choice
Installation and servicing manual | English
OLAER/OA-Technik will not be held responsible for any
interference in the pump such as internal cleaning. If the
pump has been run with contaminated oil, clean it by
running it with clean oil.

Maintenance

OLAER/OA-Technik will not be held responsible for any
consequences after repairs, modifications or alterations
made by the customer.
Dismounting the pump and coupling
from the electric motor
See Figure 5.
1. Turn off the system.
2. Disconnect the power supply.
3. Make sure that the system is depressurized.
4. Disconnect the oil inlet and outlet.
5. Disconnect the flexible hoses from the unit.
6. Remove the screws and washers fixing the pump to
the electric motor.
7. Remove the pump and the gear rim. The pump and the
coupling details can now be replaced.
8. Loosen the stop screw (T), if any, in the shaft coupling
detail. See Figure 6 B.
Remove the shaft coupling detail from the crankshaft.
Note! Certain motors have one or more adapter plates. To re-
move the electric motor, remove the screws fixing the adapter
plates to the electric motor and remove the adapter plates.
Mounting of the pump and coupling
to the electric motor
See Figure 5.
Danger Electrical shock hazard. All electrical connec–
tions must be made by a qualified electrician!
1. Fit the shaft coupling detail to the crankshaft.
Fit the stop screw (T), if any. See Figure 6 B.
2. Motor size 80: Press the shaft coupling detail onto the
crankshaft against the shoulder (R). See Figure 6 A.
3. Motor size 90, 100 and 112: Press the shaft coupling
detail onto the crankshaft until its outer side is in level
with the crankshaft end (S). Tighten the stop screw (T).
See Figure 6 B.
4. Motor size 90: Place the adapter plates against the
electric motor. Fit the screws and tighten alternately
(M8 with 10–12 Nm and M6 with 8–10 Nm).
5. Motor size 100- and 112: Place the adapter plate
against the electric motor. Fit the screws and tighten
alternately (10-12 Nm).
6. Install the pump and the gear rim.
7. Install the screws with washer (8-10 Nm) fixing the
pump to the electric motor.
8. Connect the hydraulic hoses to the unit.
9. Connect the oil inlet and oil outlet.
10. Connect the electric motor power supply.
11. Proceed to Prior to start-up and At start-up.
