Cleaning the wire rope

Risk of cuts due to sharp edges on the wire rope!
The wire rope poses a risk of cuts to your fingers and hands, as it can
have sharp edges and be pointed.
›
Wear leather gloves when cleaning the cable winch.
›
Clean the wire rope with a dry cloth after each use.
›
Do not use corrosive or aggressive cleaning agents.
›
Wind the wire rope around the manual winch after each use.

Cleaning the cable winch

You must clean the cable winch at least twice per year if it is in daily
use. In this case, proceed as follows:

Dismantle the cable winch.
›
Clean wood residues, wood chips and other dirt out of the inside
of the cable winch. Do not use degreasing, corrosive or aggressive
cleaning agents.
›
Grease the wire rope (see "Greasing the cable winch" on page 48).
›
Re-assemble the cable winch carefully.
