5. Operation of chair

5.1. Operational mode

The SC 500 does not have a main switch. If battery supplies sufficient power, the SC
500 is in operational mode permanently.

5.1.1. Duty cycle (continuous operation) of electrical motors

The electrical motors are designed for a duty cycle of approximately 6 minutes at full
load. Continuous operations exceeding that time period may cause overheat condi-
tions and permanent damage to the transformer.

5.1.2. Battery status, acoustical warning

After discharging the battery down to approximately 20% of total capacity, the
control unit will sound a beep, indicating that the battery is due for recharging. A
total discharge may cause damage to the battery.

5.2. Entry and exit position for patients

The minimum seat cushion level is at approximately 50 cm. At this level the footrest
folds down vertical to assist entry and exit for smaller or physically incapacitated peo-
ple.
