Electronic signal display (7) - Meaning of light
signals:
9.1 Electronic signal display (7) does not
illuminate
The machine is ready for operation.
9.2

Single flashing - Service call 1

Illumination - longer pause -
illumination ...: The machine can be
operated at full load for another 5 -
10% of the current active period until
servicing.
If the signal only appears when the pushbutton is
pressed, this means the carbon brushes are
almost completely worn.
9.3

Double flashing - Service call 2

2 x illuminations - longer pause - 2 x
illuminations ...: Refer the machine to
a specialized dealer/service
immediately in order to avoid machine
failure and subsequent high costs.
If the signal only appears when the pushbutton is
pressed, this means the carbon brushes are
completely worn. The machine has switched off
automatically. Have the brushes replaced by an
authorized service center.

10 Tips and Tricks

Only moderate pressure is required for hammer
drilling and chiselling. Exerting a high force does
not increase performance.
When drilling deep holes, remove the drill bit
periodically from the hole to release the stone
dust.
Drill tiles and other brittle materials without impact.

11 Maintenance

Keyless chuck cleaning (accessory):
After prolonged use hold the chuck vertically, with
the opening down, and fully open and close it
several times. The dust collected falls from the
opening. The application of cleaning spray to the
jaws and jaw openings at regular intervals is
recommended.
The vent slots of the machine should be cleaned
from time to time.

14 Repairs

Repairs to electrical tools must be carried out by
qualified electricians ONLY!
Any Metabo power tool in need of repair can be
sent to one of the addresses listed in the spare
parts list.
Please attach a description of the fault to the
power tool.
15 Environmetal Protection
Metabo's packaging can be 100% recycled.
Worn out power tools and accessories contain
considerable amounts of valuable raw and plastic
materials, which can be recycled.
These instructions are printed on chlorine-free
bleached paper.
Only for EU countries: Never dispose of
power tools in your household waste! In
accordance with European Guideline
2002/96/EC on used electronic and electric
equipment and its implementation in national legal
systems, used power tools must be collected
separately and handed in for environmentally
compatible recycling.
