- the pressure control feature is specifically designed for
fast sanding at maximum sanding speed (speed
control setting 7), for it is the need for fast sanding that
provokes applying too much pressure
! be aware that the working of the pressure control
feature is not guaranteed when sanding at lower
speed control settings (1-6)
• On/off
- before switching on the tool, you should place it with
the entire sanding surface on the workpiece
- when switching on, do not apply too much pressure on
the tool
- switch on/off the tool by pulling/releasing trigger F
! be aware of the sudden impact when the tool is
switched on
! before switching off the tool, you should lift it
from the workpiece
• Switch lock
- pull trigger F 2
- press knob G 2 with your thumb
- release the trigger
- unlock the switch by pulling again trigger F 2 and then
releasing it
• Speed control 7 (7460)
For optimal sanding results on different materials
- with wheel H 2 you can set the desired sanding
speed
- always adjust speed to grit size used
- before starting a job, find the optimal speed and grit by
testing out on spare material
• Holding and guiding the tool 8
! while working, always hold the tool at the
grey-coloured grip area(s)
- guide the tool parallel to the working surface and move
it in circles or in a cross pattern
! do not apply too much pressure on the tool; let
the sanding surface do the work for you
- do not tilt the tool in order to avoid unwanted sanding
marks
- keep ventilation slots K 2 uncovered
• Sanding
- the amount of material removed is determined by the
speed of the sanding disc
- the speed of the sanding disc diminishes relative to
the pressure applied to the tool
APPLICATION ADVICE
• For determining the optimal grit (and speed), table 9 can
be used as reference
! always test out first on a piece of scrap material
• For more tips see www.skileurope.com
