Maintain air tools. Check for misalignment or
binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and
any other condition that may affect the operation
of the air tool. If damaged, have the air tool re-
paired before use. Many accidents are caused by
poorly maintained air tools.
Keep the tool bits clean. Well cared for tool bits are
easier to use and can be controlled better.
Use the air tool, accessories, and tool bits, etc.,
in accordance with these instructions and in the
manner intended for the particular type of air
Avoid contact with a live wire. The
tool is not insulated and contact with
a live wire may result in electric shock.
Use suitable detectors to find hidden utility lines
or call the local utility company for assistance.
Contact with electric lines can lead to fire or electrical
shock. Damaging a gas line can result in an explosion.
Penetrating a water pipe will cause property damage
or an electrical shock.
Disconnect all fuses or circuit breakers that feed
the work area before you drill, cut, or attach any-
thing in this area. This eliminates the danger of elec-
tric shock.
Use only flawless tool bits that are not worn. De-
fective tool bits can break, for example, and cause in-
jury or damage.
Take care, when a tool bit is inserted, that the
shank of the tool bit is seated firmly on the tool
bit holder. If the shank of the tool bit is not placed
firmly enough onto the tool bit holder, the tool bit can
become loose and may no longer be controlled.
Place the screwdriver bit onto the nut/screw only
when the screwdriver is switched off. Rotating
screwdriver bits can slide off the nut/screw.
Be careful when driving long screws – there is a
risk of the bit sliding off the fastener head de-
pending on type of socket or bit used.
screws are often difficult to control and the danger ex-
ists that the tool bit may slip off the fastener head and
cause injury.

tool, taking into account the working conditions
and the work to be performed. Use of the air tool
for operations different from those intended could re-
sult in a hazardous situation.
Service
Have your air tool serviced by a qualified repair
person using only identical replacement parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the air tool is main-
tained.

2 SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES

FOR RATCHET WRENCH
Pay attention to the direction of rotation that is
set before switching on the tool. For example,
when a screw is to be loosened and the direction of ro-
tation is set so that the screw is tightened, this can
lead to a strong torque reaction of the tool.
Do not run the tool while carrying it at your side.
A rotating bit could become entangled with clothing
and injury may result.
If you wish to operate the tool in a suspension or
clamping device, make sure that the tool is first
mounted in the device before you connect it to
the air supply. In this way you avoid starting the tool
accidentally.
Regularly check the condition of the hanging hoop and
the hook of the suspension device.

cer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
Some examples of these chemicals are:
– Lead from lead-based paints,
– Crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other
– Arsenic and chromium from chemically treated

Your risk from these exposures varies, depending on
how often you do this type of work. To reduce your
exposure to these chemicals: work in a well-ventilated
area, and work with approved safety equipment, such
as those dust masks that are specially designed to fil-
ter out microscopic particles.
