Battery and Battery Charger
The enclosed operating instructions for the
battery charger must be read carefully!
The battery and battery charger are designed
to match each other. When charging the bat-
tery, use only a Bosch battery charger de-
signed for it with a charging voltage that corre-
sponds with the battery (see type plate). Com-
bining different rated voltages causes damage
to the battery and the battery charger.
Allow a heated battery to cool before charging.
Protect the battery from heat and fire: Danger
of explosion! Do not place the battery on radi-
ators or expose to strong sun rays for a longer
time; temperatures over 50 °C cause damage.
Do not open the battery, and protect it from im-
pact. Store in a dry and frost-free place.
Cover the contacts of a removed battery. Dan-
ger of fire results when shorted by a metal ob-
ject!
Do not dispose of the battery in household
waste or discard into fire or water.
Before Putting into Operation
Battery Charging
A battery that is new or has not been used for a
longer period does not develop its full capacity
until after approximately 5 charging/discharging
cycles.
To remove the battery 1, press the unlocking but-
tons 2 and pull out the battery downwards. Do not
exert any force.
Please refer to the enclosed "Battery Charger" in-
structions for the operation of the battery charger
as well as for a description of the charging proc-
ess.
The battery is equipped with an NTC temperature
control which allows charging only within a tem-
perature range of between 0 °C and 45 °C.
A long battery service life is achieved in this man-
ner. A significantly reduced working period after
charging indicates that the batteries are used and
must be replaced.
Observe the notes on environmental protec-
tion.

Checking the Adjustment of the Riving
Knife (see figures
Before any work on the machine itself, re-
move the battery.
For safety reasons the riving knife 15 must al-
ways be used. The riving knife avoids seizing of
the saw blade while sawing.
The adjustment is carried out at minimal cutting
depth, as described in section "Adjusting the Cut-
ting Depth".
It is best to place the machine on the face side of
the blade guard.
Loosen clamping lever 24, press the saw away
from the base plate 16 and tighten clamping le-
ver 24 again.
Loosen the screw 26, adjust the riving knife 15
and retighten the screw. Observe the values
given in the figure.
Adjusting the Cutting Depth
(see figure
Before any work on the machine itself, re-
move the battery.
To achieve an optimum cut, the saw blade
must not protrude more than 3 mm at the
most from the material.
For adjusting the cutting depth loosen the clamp-
ing lever 24 and raise the saw from the base
plate 16, or lower it to the base plate, respec-
tively.
Raise
Lower
Set the desired depth on the cutting depth
scale 25.
Tighten the clamping lever 24 again.
Clamping lever
The clamping power of the clamping lever 24 can
be adjusted.
To do this, unscrew the clamping lever and set it
at at least 30° counter-clockwise, screw on again.
