Set Up the Product
The Axis product can be configured by users with administrator or operator rights. To open the product's Setup pages, click Setup in
the top right-hand corner of the Live View page.
• Administrators have unrestricted access to all settings.
• Operators have restricted access to settings, see Users on page 56

Basic Setup
Basic Setup provides shortcuts to the settings that should be made before using the Axis product:
1. Users. See page 56.
2. TCP/IP. See page 58.
3. Date & Time. See page 58.
4. Video Stream. See page 23.
5. Focus & Zoom. See page 30.
6. Audio Settings. See page 31.
The Basic Setup menu can be disabled from System Options > Security > Users.
Adjust focus and zoom for included lens
1. Access the product's web page and go to Setup > Basic Setup > Focus & Zoom.
2. Under the Basic tab, adjust Zoom level and then click Perform auto focus.
3. For additional focus adjustments, go to the Advanced tab.
Note
If the camera does not focus, try to calibrate the optics in System Options > Maintenance, and perform auto focus again.
Adjust focus and zoom for optional lenses
If the camera is mounted so that you cannot look at the image and access the lens at the same time, use the Focus Assistant, see
Focus assistant for optional lenses.
1. Open the product's home page and go to Setup > Basic Setup > Focus.
2. Under the Basic tab, click Open iris. If the button is inactive the iris is already open.
3. If focus has been set before, click Reset to reset the back focus.
4. Loosen the zoom and focus pullers on the lens by turning them counter-clockwise.
5. Loosen the zoom puller and the lock screw for the focus ring on the lens by turning them counter-clockwise.
6. Move the pullers to set zoom and focus and check the quality of the image in the image window.
