Unpacking
Take the unit out of the carton. Remove all pieces of
the packing. Remove any possibly extant labels on
the unit (do not remove the rating plate).
Before first use
Before using the water kettle for the first time, fill it
to the maximum level with fresh water, boil, then
pour the water away. Repeat this procedure 3 times.
After repeatedly boiling water it is normal that some
condensation may have formed on the base of the
water kettle. If this happens, just wipe dry with a
cloth.

IMPORTANT: For a correct usage of the appliance,
we recommend to insert the water filter and close
the lid before starting operations.
• Fill the kettle with water either through the spout
with the lid closed or press the lid release button
(3) to open the lid and fill with water.
• Make sure not to exceed the maximum filling level
mark.
• Close the lid, place the kettle on the dry base,
plug in and ensure the scale filter is inserted.
• Press down the On/Off switch (5), the indicator
light is flashing. Do not open the lid when the
kettle is switched on.
• When the boiling process is complete, the kettle
automatically switches off. You may also stop the
heating procedure at any time by switching the
appliance off.
• Empty the water kettle after each use.
Note: If you have not used the water kettle for more
than 2 days, rinse it with fresh water.
Auto Off Function
For your convenience and also additional safety, the
appliance will switch off automatically if :

accidental switching on)

function will be delayed.

Descaling
Frequency will depend upon the hardness of your
tap water and how often you use the appliance.
You can check the water hardness with your
local water supplier.
We recommend every 3 months in case of normal
use (up to 5 times a day) with low to medium water
hardness.
Every month in case of more frequent usage or with
hard water.
You can use a commercially available decalcifying
agent.
We recommend using the Braun Descaling solution
(may be purchased separately*).
Follow the instructions of the manufacturer of the
decalcifying agent.
*availability to be confirmed by country
Alternatively you can use vinegar:
• Boil 0.8 l water (WK 3100, WK 3110) respectively
0.5 l (WK 3000) water in the kettle.
• Important: Switch off the kettle and add 0.5 l (WK
3100, WK 3110) respectively 0.2 l (WK 3000)
household vinegar (4% acid). Do not boil the
content.
• The mixture of water and vinegar remains in the
kettle for about 2 hours.
• Empty the kettle and rinse the inside thoroughly
with fresh water. Fill the kettle with fresh water
and boil it.
• To remove any scale from the scale filter, you may
soak it in diluted vinegar.
Repeat the procedure as many times as necessary.
Allow the maximum amount of fresh cold water to
rinse through at least twice to clean the appliance.
