9. OPERATION

9.1. Filling
Fill the water reservoir (use drinking water only,
softened if possible). Insert the reservoir, making sure
that the rubber dip tube is not crimped or bent.
9.2. Switching on
Set the general switch to position 1 to power the
machine.
When the machine is used for the first time,
let approximately 0.5L of water flow
through the
temperature to flush the hydraulic circuit.
9.3. Coffee delivery

Remove the filter holder from its seat, turning it in
the clockwise direction.

Fill the filter with one or two doses of coffee
(according to the filter inserted), using the
appropriate doser. Only for models 3235/3245
press the T5C or T6 key depending on the filter
inserted. Press the T7 key to start manual grinding
and press it again when the desired quantity has
been reached.

Compact the coffee with the supplied presser. Only
models 3235/3245 has the presser mounted to the
machine.

Replace and tighten the filter holder in its seat,
turning it in the anti-clockwise direction.

Position the cups under the corresponding outlets
beneath the filter holder.

Press the key corresponding to the desired coffee
dose ( T1, T2, T8, T9), and after a few seconds
coffee delivery begins. Delivery stops when the
programmed dose has been reached.
The level of water in the reservoir (photo 1
ref. B) must be checked regularly, to avoid air
in the pump during the coffee delivery stage
and unexpectedly becoming noisy with a resulting drop
in pressure.
In this case, immediately stop delivery, refill the
reservoir with water and repeat the steps required to
start the machine for service.
It is advisable pay attention to the hot parts of the
machine, especially the delivery group and the steam
spout. Never place the hands under the steam spout or
the group when their relative operations are being
performed.
9.5 Steam delivery

Open the water/steam nozzle by rotating in the
anti-clockwise direction.

Press the T3 steam push-button, the light flashes to
indicate heating and, after a few seconds, hot
water delivery from the steam nozzle begins.

Delivery stops at the end of the programmed time,
or by again pressing T3.
9.5 Cappuccino
To achieve a cappuccio with a creamy foam, follow
these steps:

Use a tall, narrow container approximately half
filler with milk.

Open the water/steam nozzle by rotating in the
anti-clockwise direction.

Press the T3 steam push-button, the light flashes to
indicate heating and, after a few seconds, hot
water delivery from the steam nozzle begins.

Immerse approximately half of the spout in the
liquid to be heated. Delivery will stop at the end of
the programmed time, or by again pressing T3
when the desired temperature has been reached.

Pour the whipped, creamy milk into the cup.

Once the drink is heated, release some steam to
clean the sprayer outlet holes and clean with a
damp cloth.
9.6 Hot water delivery

Open the water/steam nozzle by rotating in the
anti-clockwise direction.

Place the container to be used to collect water
below the water / steam nozzle.

Press the coffee delivery switch T4, and after a few
seconds hot water delivery from the water / steam
nozzle begins.

Delivery stops at the end of the programmed time,
or by again pressing T4.
9.9 Adjusting the degree of the grind (only mod.
3235/3245)

Place the filter holder on the fork (photo 1 ref. J).

Press the T7 manual grinder key to start grinding.

Check that the degree of the grind is suitable to
deliver coffee.

Rotate the hopper in the clockwise direction to
achieve a finer grind.

Rotate the hopper in the anti-clockwise direction to
achieve a coarser grind.
The adjustment of the degree of the grind
and the quantity is fundamental to
achieving a good delivery of coffee. If the
ground coffee is too fine or the quantity is
too great, the coffee will flow too slowly, while if it is
too coarse or the quantity is too little, the coffee will
flow too quickly.
