4. Using the Homecleaner as a carpet
extractor and hardfloor cleane
8.
Before using the Homecleaner as a carpet extractor
check that the carpet is colour fast. Apply a small
amount of the dilutedsolution to a normally hidden
section of the carpet with a clean white cloth. Any
non-fast dye will show on the cloth.
9.
To operate as a carpet extractor
a.
Start at the corner furthest from the door. When you
press the trigger the cleaning solution is sprayed into the
carpet fibre. The vacuum sucks back the soiled water
into the waste water tank.
b. Whilst pressing the trigger, slowly draw the spray
nozzle towards yourself. Release spray trigger, lift the
nozzle of the carpet and start with the next line slightly
overlapping the previous line cleaned.
c.
For best results, move the nozzle slowly over the
carpet. Repeat each action without the trigger to
remove all the soiled solution and help dry the carpet
quicker. For heavily soiled areas use a recommended
pre-cleaner. Spray the effected area before normal
carpet extraction.
d. If the unit is not spraying any cleaning solution onto
the carpet, the tank needs refilling. Turn off the unit
immediately. Empty waste water container, rinse and
refill in order to continue.
10. When the carpet has been cleaned switch off both
switches. Empty the unit, fill up with clean water and
rinse though hoses and accessories by switching on
the pump switch and spraying the solution into a sink
or a toilet. At the end empty the unit and dry thoroughly.
11. Before removing the spray hose release any pressure
in the system by operating the trigger. To remove the
spray hose press back the plastic collar of the connector.
Normally the carpet is dry enough to walk on after
approximately 4 to 6 hours. You can reduce the drying time
by opening windows to improve ventilation. Avoid walking
on damp carpet and allow to dry before replacing furniture.
Furniture should be put back on the wet carpet, place alumi-
num foil or plastic under it. This will prevent staining.
