Saw blade change
a. Loosening the saw blade:
Remove the two hexagon nuts (830) as well as
compression plate (820) and the saw blade.
b. Clamping the saw blade:
Place saw blade and compression plate (820) onto
connecting rod (770) and fasten by means of the two
hexagon nuts (830).
3. Correct usage
To be used in accordance with the relevant legislation on
technical tools (e.g. the German Technical Equipment Safety
Act or similar). The power tools which we seil comply with
statutory regulations for user safety.
The hacksaw is designed for cutting metal and other
materials. Be careful when using clamping devices and in
particular the support for free hand working. Use the
enclosed handle for transporting the hacksaw.
The use of FEIN saw blades ensures good working
progress. Apply pressure on the handle by hand and do
not exceed 100 N.
4. Cleaning and general care
The pneumatic hacksaw requires adequate maintenance.
Keep the pneumatic hacksaw in a clean and dry place. In the
event of the slightest signs of a defect, disconnect and check
the machine.
Malfunctions may be caused by:
Inadequate air pressure.
Poor lubrication of maintenance unit or lubrication
failed altogether.
Plate (1410) sticks or has worm too far.
Oiler full or clogged.
Use of resinous oil which has been stored for too long.
Damaged ball bearings.
Remedies:
Check air pressure.
Clean and lubricate the motor.
Clean the tool by pouring a little paraffin oil directly into the inlet
socket of the saw once a week. Then allow saw to run for about
10-15 seconds to flush the paraffin oil and all accumulated dirt
out of the motor. After flushing, pour a little oil directly into the
motor intake socket, as this will improve its performance.
The motor is automatically lubricated by the economy oiler built
into the handle. Before the start of each working shift, fill the
aller with thin-flowing resin-free machine oil. One filling will last
for one normal working shift. Oil feed is easily regulated. To fill,
loose screw (1690). Take oft locking screw (1660) to expose
the control screw (1670). Tighten screw to reduce oil feed,
slacken screw to increase it. Generally, half a turn will suffice.
The right regulation of the oiler can be controlled with a test
paper: hold white paper in front of the air escape of the
machine, the hin oil film, which tends to deposit, must not begin
to run. Should the aller become clogged, take out the screw,
and clear the bare which then becomes visible with a piece of
wire. When the full aller is connected to the compressed-air line,
the oil must clearly be seen to bubble under the pressure when
the filler screw is open. We recommend the use of thin-flowing,
acid- and resin-free oil 3-4 0 E/20° C.
To protect motor from damage due to obstruction or
contamination we recommend the use of the maintenance unit
9 16 01 001 003.
The gear lubricating grease must be renewed every 300
operating hours. Depending on the type and duration of use,
but at the latest after 6 months of operation, the pneumatic
hacksaw must be cleaned thoroughly and serviced.
If the hacksaw is subject to especially strong lad, pay attention
to the wear of sliding bearings (900) and replace them, if
required. Retighten screws (650, 880, 890), if necessary.
Damage due to improper handling, overloading or normal wear
are excluded from the warranty. We assume warranty for faulty
material or craftsmanship.
Please submit the tool to one of our authorized workshops
for servicing.
5. Maintenance and repair
Please note that pneumatic tools should only be repaired,
serviced and checked by qualified persons — as stipulated
by national regulations (e.g. VBG 1, DIN 31000) — since
repairs carried out improperly can place the user at serious
risk.
Only use original FEIN spare parts.
