Fitting AirLoc®
• Open all the straps and unfasten the Velcro strap ends.
• Open the valves on the inside and outside of the orthosis.
• Ensure that no air is present in the air cushions.
• Position the orthosis so that the shells labelled "outside" are located on the
outer (lateral) side of the leg (Figure 1).
• AirLoc® orthoses are labelled "right" and "left" for use on the respective
foot.
• Position the shells on the side of the leg so that the front edge of the
orthosis is aligned with the edge of the shin (Figure 2).
• Two straps are tted to each inner and outer shell to secure the orthosis.
• When tting AirLoc® for the rst time, start by fastening the upper straps.
• Fasten the straps in the following sequence:
1. Fasten the anterior upper strap (Figure 3)
2. Fasten the posterior upper strap (Figure 4)
3. Fasten the anterior lower strap (Figure 5)
4. Fasten the posterior lower strap (Figure 6)
• Secure the Velcro ends in the center of the corresponding Velcro section of
the respective strap on the inner/outer edge of the shell.
• When the orthosis is positioned correctly, retighten the two upper straps.
• Now put on your shoe.
• Pump up the air cushions uniformly using the enclosed in ating bulb
(Figure 7).
• Start with the outer air cushion followed by the inner cushion.
• The correct degree of stabilization is usually achieved after 1-2 pumps.
• The pressure can be regulated individually via the valves.
• To de ate the cushions, insert the pin on the side of the in ating bulb into
the valve to allow the air to escape (Figure 8).
• Only open the two anterior straps when removing the orthosis.
• The two posterior straps do not need to be opened.
Removing AirLoc®
• De ate the air cushions.
• Undo the straps, starting with the upper strap and then the lower strap, and
remove the orthosis.
• Before re tting the orthosis, ensure that the air cushions are completely
de ated.

Important information
• AirLoc® is a prescribed product that should be applied under medical
supervision. AirLoc® should be applied in accordance with these directions
for use and only for the speci ed indications.
• The product is intended to be tted only once and to one patient.
• No liability is accepted for improper use of the product.
• No improper modi cations may be made to the product. Failure to comply
with this requirement may adversely affect product performance, thereby
cancelling any product liability.
• The product should be worn in combination with sturdy footwear (e.g.
athletic shoes or street shoes).
• Patients with sensitive skin, known contact allergies or who are sensitive to
pressure should wear a cotton sock or stocking under the AirLoc®.
• Should you notice any unusual changes (e.g. increased symptoms), please
contact your medical provider without delay.
• A combination with other products (e.g. compression stockings) must be
discussed beforehand with your medical provider.
• Avoid the use of ointments, lotions or any substances including grease or
acids.
• Contact sports present a higher risk of injury. Bauerfeind does not guarantee
that AirLoc® will prevent injuries during these activities.
• Guarantee subject to statutory regulations.
• The product can be disposed of without any restrictions.

AirLoc® can be washed by hand using a mild detergent. Please close all Velcro®
fastenings before washing to prevent subsequent weakening of the Velcro®
fastening force.
This product has been examined by our own quality control system. However,
should you have any complaint, please contact your retailer or our customer
service department.
